Surely the number of shares in issue has no relevance? If both companies had the same market cap when you invested your £10k you would just have a higher quantity of shares in Syme that NCYT. You would still own the same % of each company. It’s just cosmetic.

I know the market doesn’t always work that rationally when Apple and Tesla both split their stock the price of both went flying up (perhaps because it made them more affordable for the retail Robin Hood type investors) but no additional value was returned to the shareholders from the split.

Interesting thanks. It would be great if it could be rolled out that fast. I suppose if you think about it in banking numbers it’s not actually that much money.

WG - do you have any indication of how much the second monetisation is going to be? With the first one being only €300m and a six month gap between the first and the second I’m struggling to see how we can hit €4b monetisation by the end of 2021.

I know the RNS says the money will be there but I’m struggling with the application of it in the timescales stated.

Plus AZ only has a team under 20 people? I’m assuming there is going to be a massive recruitment drive?

Parm, don’t get your knickers in a twist. It was AP who joined up all the dots and found that the overwhelming majority of this company is owned by a small number of connected parties with pretty much absolute control.

Extrader - this is why I can’t quite get behind the euphoria of these latest revelations about the iis. I know it rarely ever is but it feels like our destiny won’t be in our own hands and it begs the question, like you say of why they need a public listing now let alone in the future.

I suspect this will need more cash to run the SYME Tech part than people think and they’ll want to come back to the markets perhaps.

Unless you’re a pensioner I’m not sure what the fascination is with dividends when investing in a young company.

They should be re-investing all generated cash back into the business or holding It for strategic acquisitions.

Keep the dividends for the boring old stale companies like BP and Tesco.

You cannot apply a P/E ratio to a start up as there is no profit. You can’t apply it to a company that makes a loss in the period you are looking at either which is why you would look at multiples of revenue as a potential basis for valuation. Although tech companies generally have a high multiple on most metrics they will often have the most potential due to modern world, etc. Throw COVID into the mix and it’s advanced a lot of them 5-10 years in six months. If you look at a company like zoom it’s phenomenal. Look at the Snowflake IPO, crazy stuff. They have to grow into the valuation though.

NYCT’s addressable market is potentially 7b people as well whereas we are still just a notion. Potential yes, but we are not comparing apples with apples.

They are heavily discounting at the moment and I get bombarded with marketing emails from them. I think Ted’s a loyalty brand and those that wear it love it. They’re not aiming for the boohoo market.

I’m hoping that whatever they lose in smart and suits they make up in casual. Especially if they’re cliental are more likely to take part in zoom/teams meetings, etc.

How often does the FTSE drop off a cliff once the yanks starts selling off. People should also keep an eye on it as it’s a great place to make money and grows far quicker than the FTSE And they back there business far more than the uk.

In April I went big on Tesla, Apple, Amazon, Facebook, Alphabet and Shopify and have cleaned up.

We had a business update on 28th sept which set out the revenues from first monetisation for year ending 30/09/20 (£2.3m) and year ending 30/09/21 (£6.5m).

Next monetisation is due to start in March 2021.

I’ve just moved back here from ASOS this morning. Been out and about today so happy with the good start.

Just wanted to make sure the bottom had been found and a bit of a recovery so hopefully onwards and upwards.

I think with things like this it depends on what‘who you read. I’ve seen some coverage that suggests the Clinton and Obama economies have performed better than the Trump and Bush.

I assume a Biden administration will push through a massive stimulus package which will give a short term boost to the markets.
