No doubt they are receiving a high volume of low quality emails to which they will send an automated response. If they were to receive fewer well constructed emails we would be more likely to receive a more useful reply.

I sent them quite a lengthy email with some decent, but not unreasonable questions and received no reply, but to reply with the generic reply would have looked awful on their part.

It’s clearly something that happens in/out of trading hours.

HKK I agree. He’s been so engaging with investors previously that the current silence doesn’t look good at all. Serious investors don’t want a couple of propaganda tweets, they want proper honest communications.

Is the company big enough to require a CFO? They’ll be more board members than staff at this rate. They already employ a firm of accountants who should be mopping all this up, and have auditors as well.

It’ll be years before they arrange anything mutually on a global sale.

Amazon have created ten of thousands of jobs in the uk, plus the knock on courier jobs, companies like DS Smith doing very nicely off the back of them.

They won’t want to poke the tech bear unless the whole world moves at the same time.

So I would contest the ‘Glory Hunter’ tag vigorously.

I think one of the reasons the USA is so high is because of the FAANG /stay at home sticks which were made for a pandemic. Retail investors pumping into the likes of Tesla which is now one of the biggest companies in the S&P. Whereas the UK is full of banks and oil majors which took a massive hit.

I’ve read large chunks of this and it was very interesting. I feel we would need to build a significant developer presence within the UK to take advantage of some of the initiatives. I’m pretty sure I’ve read that they are based in Milan at the moment.

One of the case studies had employees in UK and US but the questions and responses were very UK centric.

With a CFD or SB position there is no underlying share that could be borrowed.

No one wants their investment gone but it’s worth factoring in. Blind faith is as bad as hopeless doom in this scenario.

It’s a waiting game but the longer this goes on the less ‘procedural’ it becomes. We don’t know anything, we won’t be told anything, there is no reassurance anyone can give us. Just got to let it play out.

Capital gains and pension restrictions have been on the cards for a while. Don’t think it would be a wise move given they need investment into companies to help get the economy moving. Lower spending and furlough money has helped create an army of PI but not sure how many of these would fall into capital gains commitments or are trading outside ISAs.

However it would be popular with the red wall that helped them win the election so easily.

If they brought that it on 6th April I think there would be a decent sell off on 5th as people take advantage of their allowance and the lower taxes. Could be a good buying opportunity?

Yep they’ll be a lot of young retail traders with money to invest. I think it was one of the main drivers behind Tesla’s rise last year.

Although I believe it still needs to pass through the second house.

Tax avoidance is legal, tax evasion in not.

I think most people are fine with paying tax on their income, savings, rentals, etc, but capital gains really stocks in their craw when the gains are made from income that has already been taxed.

Plus once your earnings over £150k a year you’ve already lost your child benefit, personal allowance, paying 40%/45%, pension restrictions potentially, etc.

There’s been pros and cons to the PR approach by AZ.

On the plus side he’s been very engaging, enthusiastic, ambitious with his plans and the road map to where he’d like to get us to.

On the minus there has been some very poorly written ambiguous over promising and under delivering RNSs.

If you compare the quality of the output and the shareholder engagement from companies like HE1, ARB, etc, their output is much more polished and therefore far more credible.

I think it’s perfectly rational, especially if losing your investment here has consequences elsewhere that you need to prepare for. Plenty of posters have admitted to being all in, used house deposits, banking on retirement, etc, here and I assume they have wives and families that they are accountable to.

Belief is all well and good but sentiment is just that.

Syme at one point had grown to 10% of my portfolio but I’ve added to other positions and shrunk it to about 6%. Still wouldn’t be happy losing it but the hit would be no different to what I’ve lost on Tesla and my US tech shares this week.
