RE: UK retail sales fell by 1.4% in March23 Apr 2022 12:36
I’ve not bought back in here yet and I’m finding it a hard one to play.
Inflation, likely recession round the corner, but low price value brands should fair well. Plus boohoo’s demographic is unlikely to be hit as hard by cost of living crisis. Job cuts will hit the demographic hardest though. Another thought it that there are a lot of areas where wage inflation is exceptionally high like IT, when the axe falls these jobs will likely more affect the higher tier brands like a Boss, Ted Baker, etc.
But again, pent up demand for holiday, etc, and we’ve got more savings built up from the pandemic, being on furlough, etc, and not much to spend on.
I think we are likely to have a big market dip later in the year so while I’m not taking any money out at the minute I’m waiting before putting new money to work and it will be dripped in slowly.
Like Kitty I’ve also booked a holiday and am looking at more spending rather than less.
