Nuri, you need to get your facts right, the PRA told the banks not to pay dividends, they told the insurance companies to be "prudent" when paying dividends. LGEN paid their dividend, the Aviva board lacked a pair of you know what.

Gulf, I have shares in both, IMHO LGEN has a far superior management team with a clear strategy that they presented recently. Aviva has a good business but have never managed it all clicking in sync hence getting rid of the offshore bits. In many ways Aviva remind me of Tesco from a few years back, alot of offshore businesses that just didnt work being sold off to focus on home markets. Amanda Blanc is as of now unproven, time will tell on this once the offshore businesses have been sold the UK/Ireland/Canada bussinesses will relaly have to perform. I do think that Aviva may make an acquisition in one of the three remaining markets to grow the business. Good luck with your decision and investing.

Yep, agree with Eccles04, from 13 December 2019 to 24 February 2020, LGEN traded above 300p, slight dip below mid Jan.

The dividend to be paid on 31 December 2020 is for the preference shares not the ordinary shares...

Ian, as the price is now below the offer price of 272p the market is not expecting an offer to be made by Apollo. Caesars certainly wont make a higher offer before the vote in a few weeks. After the vote is a different matter, all depends on getting 75% approval, keeps it interesting for a few more weeks.

The uncrossing trade at 16.35pm today is the closing price for today i.e. 194.85p, this is what London Stock Exchange is quoting. Quite often trades can get notified after the closing auction but are usually trades done earlier in the day, mainly off book.

It's based on 2 billion of additional debt attached to non US assets in takeover plan, maybe read the article again, alot of details in it and Moody's basis for the ratings change.

Caesars plan to put the debt on the WMH non US business when they complete the takeover, stated that previously.
