I think this is a trap to catch out the retail investor, big price drop after consolidation, price starting to rise again, investors with the special divi cash on Friday reinvest drive up the price higher early next week, big boys bail out, then it drops back down to 210p - 220p range and the retail investors bet burned again.

Watch out folks, sit on the special divi cash for a while, might be worth it in the long run.

Would be very surprised if ITV pay a dividend for 2020, they have utilised furlough scheme, don't recall them announcing that they have repaid the money but I could be wrong. Would be a backlash if they paid out to investors, imho.

Jazim, the ITV studios is the only jewel in the crown for ITV at present. Streaming is definitely the new route for television however I think ITV are late to the game in this regard, Netflix and Disney are way ahead of them. While Netflix and Disney have deeper pockets than ITV, ITV does have the knack of producing some cracking series.

Does the board have the courage to go down the streaming route with something like a Downton Abbey, that remains to be seen. They put Spitting Image on BritBox but I do wonder how many people who watched it this time round were the same people who watched it back in the 1980s, a high proportion I would think.

To be honest I dont see a bid coming in, Carolyn and the board need to seriously consider the direction of the Company with some very strong headwinds facing them.

Just because somebody has a different view on ITV than the happy clappers on this board does not mean that those views may not have some substance to them no matter how much we do not like those views.

If you do not like what Tom has to say, you dont have to read his posts, you can just filter him. Dont take opposing views personally, at the end of the day we all want to make money out of our investments whether you are long/short/waiting for 50p entry point.

Carolyn's performance as CEO should definitely be debated here, three years in the job, share price c. 170p when she took the job in 2018, 135p before Covid, hardly stellar performance, all views welcome.

It's been used to pay down liabilities including operating costs, as I said read the balance sheet and the notes. RYA have gone thru 1 billion in cash comparing 31 December to 31 March, nothing hidden in this.

Fleccy, re the cash, Ryanair comparing 31 December figure to 31 March 2020 figure, the last annual audited period, standard accounting disclosure.

Re the drop in cash over the three months to 31 December, current liabilities at 31 December were 3.877 bn compared with 5.659 bn at 30 September and 5.5508 bn at 31 March 2020, this is where the cash decrease has been applied.

It's prob best to read the pdf results document, esp the balance sheet on page 4.

From the call:

1) If trading is reasonable up to year end, good chance not to be in a net debt position, significant improvement on last year
2) Computer/laptop/printer/gaming sales are exceptionally strong
3) Utilising furlough scheme in this current lockdown, rates relief and furlough support total approx 15 million per month at present
4) Expecting a significant loss on Carphone Warehouse business for year, it is a little worse than expected
5) Online business is growing, they are winning online
6) Seeing some teething issues getting product to the Republic of Ireland due to Brexit
7) Margin gap between store and online sales is narrowing

Alex and Jonny were pleased with the trading performance over the period. What was very clear from the call and had been flagged previously was that the Carphone business is not going well, I expect this to be a drag on the annual results.

Silverhorse, you refer to "my valuation model" and "intrinsic value", this is so unlike your usual posts on BIRG, have you changed your method of share price prediction from reading tea leaves to a more sophisticated form of fundamental analysis? Alas not, did you just copy the text from a February 2020 BIRG article on Simply Wall Street and change the share price at that date to the price at current date? Great news for investors – Bank Of Ireland Group is still trading at a fairly cheap price. My valuation model shows that the intrinsic value for the stock is €8.17, but it is currently trading at €4.12 on the share market, meaning that there is still an opportunity to buy now.

Ghost, back in 2018 Plus500 was riding the wave of the crypto boom, share price hit 2000p, when they announced in Feb 2019 that 2019 would not be as good as 2018 and an issue with reporting customer PnL, the price tanked down to 800p and then back down to 500p from where it has risen since, all of which I'm sure you recall.

This share is a very bumpy ride, the results update next month will be interesting and how the market will react to the outlook for 2021 especially. There will be a good dividend announced but will the share price have fallen by that amount in the near time, buckle up, this may be bumpy..as always DYOR etc.

LGEN sold their general insurance business to Allianz back in 2019, no exposure to Covid business cover.
