If anyone increased their short after a huge price drop they really should go back to shorting school! The time to increase the short is before the price falls innit?

Can't agree. The increase in buybacks was huge when the price slumped. They must have bought all they can afford by now in this program which is why the number is back to a lower level. Directors only bought a few days ago.

I fear the costs of Funky Pig plus costs of integration plus hangovers from previous acquisitions, increased debt servicing and staff costs will hit the pbt and the bald figures will end up looking pretty poor. Adjust pbt will look better but there will probably be less cash. Not to mention the now significant wasted cash on shares buybacks which have lost 25% since last week. Good luck to you all but I think I'm staying out for now.

Hello loyal sufferers. Luckily for me, I got out recently having had an extraordinarily overweight position in CF for a long time. Did ok out of it but never as well as I hoped. I lost faith in the BoD about 6 months ago and fear the Pigeon thing will be another mini disaster. There's much to like about the stores, but so much money has been wasted. I will be waiting for signs of real progress rather than trusting the BoD and will be out for now. Good luck...

Yes, CF got a battering. I held lots and traded some nice profits, getting out at 105p. 71p today. Ouch! Have to say I lost faith in the management team and retail is being totally destroyed by successive governments. Nothing left soon except crime and billionaires!

I've dumped all my housebuilders (Persimmon, Taylor Wimpy, Barratt Redrow) at a small loss this morning sadly. This Government (and previous) throwing taxes, levies and fines at them, cost of labour and materials going up, can't sell new homes because nobody has a job or any money, or can't afford the mortgage. Recent policy in the Budget will squeeze house prices downwards, and threats of super Council taxes. Nothing good. Hope I'm wrong for everyone else's sake who is invested. Good luck!

I sold 2500 in first hour and have now bought them back and a few more. Happy to trade the ups and downs at these levels. Got out of housebuilders today at a loss. Can't see anything but disaster for new housebuilders. Sad.

Shorters may sometimes be effectively just being reducing exposure elsewhere, but JPM looks confused. Whatever, Christmas is back on here in the South East despite the Rachel massacre.

The shorts are clearly getting nervous. But in the corruption of shorters working with PE it may all be part of a game to get Greggs for well below long term fair value. The ploy to make it go bust or breach covenants seems to have failed. Thanks to whoever pushed the price down so far - it's made my brave excessive position (unwound by 50% today) rather lucrative. I wouldn't especially trust the motives of a Singapore Hedge Fund. However, it's true that Greggs needs to grow profit rather than anything else.
