I've just been tempted back in. Start small but feeling confident this is near the bottom again.

Fair enough, but the hit on sales was (as far as I can tell) mostly during the hot couple of months last summer, and turnover has picked up since. I don't see collapsing sales, or disaster because of fat jabs. Will be interesting. PE is massively reduced. Makes little sense to me. There may well be further shorting by hobby horse followers but I generally expect a recovery in sp in next few months and certainly before next xd date. Time will - as ever - tell!

The charts... Interesting. CEO has a lot to answer for, but with the investment spend looking like reducing soon and pretty decent turnover and profit figures recently and predicted, it only takes one or two shorters to buy back and move the sp up. That's happened before fairly recently and could easily happen again. As far as I know Greggs has modest debt so pushing the sp down shouldn't create too many short term headaches and the BoD has options to address it. The shops and new trading ideas seem to be doong ok. Interesting battle ahead, but I don't really see how a 'chart' can predict the future too well in such a case. And Baillie Gifford might be wrong but others may take a long position if the price is artificially depressed as well. Again I don't see how charts can predict this. Maybe a wee bit of scaremongering especially if you're shorting it yourself!

Other great defences from the BoD would be bringing forward the next div and adding a special div. And / or some buybacks... It's worth increasing debt sometimes!

The best defence is buying more shares at this price. I've sold a lot of Admiral at a nice short term profit today and put it into Greggs. Happy to wait...

Precisely. And oversized divs relative to company performance almost always see a much bigger drop than the div amount. I often sell before xd to convert income into capital gains (hopefully). Doesn't always work but usually does for companies under a bit of strain like Victrex.

I bought in at a about £6.40 average and sold at about £7 average. Wished I'd held on but the report announcing the very generous div didn't give me any short term confidence. Really sorry for anyone who bought in late chasing that dividend... Company needs to see progress before the price rises much imho...

Yes, pretty much as expected. My concerns about Funky Pigeon remain - I don't see any real marketing for it and it's not really doing anything versus Moonpig. Managed decline is not a good story, so hopefully the market will see better days ahead. The way this government is extracting excessive amounts from retail / high street and general malaise from the public isn't helpful. Fingers crossed.

Well maybe a bit lower! The selling makes no sense other than trying to manipulate the market... I will wait it out as I am sure many of you will too. Good luck.

Holding its low of around 2640 fairly well... This looks like the local bottom to me...

Back to the same bottom as Friday, but not any lower. Hoping that it has another good start tomorrow.

Just bought a bit more after taking some profits on Greggs who have been attacked by similar forces but are now off their lows. Had far too much Greggs anyway.

Yes! Well I sold a chunk first thing and have just bought it back with a nice saving so still feeling good about this one. Silly price for this company. Maybe a US predator on the hunt? Happens all the time...

Nice rise today so far. For once I may have got in pretty close to a local bottom. Can only see solid progress from here (until the Government increases IPT to 50%). Good luck...

I ignore that bunch of amateurs. They really don't have much clue.

Turnover for half year was about £3bn with about £0.5bn profit. Even if the second half is a bit worse the numbers are still much more impressive than last time sp was at this level. I'm prepared to be patient...

Well had to buy a bit more after it's dropped another chunk. Crazy. Efficient markets - nope, not the way I learned it 40 years ago!

I've just bought in but can't understand the drop other than the frequent corrupt dealings of shorters... Given the business and dividend yield I think this is a safe buy at these levels.

Interesting little battle - shorters have piled in again over last hour or so. Good trading stock...
