I’d imagine due to the direct and cross presentation mechanisms there is increased recruitment of the right highly specific (high avidity) T-cells .. (as per immunobody mode of action?) .. just my thoughts?
“ What has happened was predictable,” she says. “We are getting as good, if not better, antibody levels than other [vaccines], and more, and better T-cell responses.”
Well, wherever it’s coming from, scancell shareholders should be fairly confident that scancell will be getting some significant non dilutive funding to help drive the clinical trial of ‘Covidity’ ! But if it’s done in 100 days I’ll eat my t-shirt ! Lol ..
Take care all ... my t-shirt suggestion is simply ‘Guffaw Guffaw’! Lol..
Proposals .. is the key word for me. It’s a pot that could support several ? There are others like Nantkwest I think but the Nottingham/scancell vaccine has been mentioned directly, so wouldn’t be surprised if 10 - 20 million could find its way to scancell to complete phase 1 -( current funds granted were for initiating a phase 1 trial ) ... im not expecting £100million plus .... yet ??
By the way, it’s not just as simple as targeting the N protein ... it has to be done effectively, and I think the immunobody platform if programmed correctly could do just that !
“ CEPI will by the end of March 2021 also launch a Call for Proposals to provide US $200m funding for an ‘all-in-one’ vaccine that could protect against a broad range of coronaviruses, including SARS, MERS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2.”
No need to thank me .. although I did do my usual ‘Universal Covid Vaccine’ news search at quite an opportune time .. if I hadn’t seen it someone else would have pretty soon (except knowlesi perhaps?)
