The UK’s sequencing and detection does indeed seem to be world leading. However, if we want to open up the world again, we either need the world match the U.K. or we need to develop better vaccines ... or ideally both !! There is no solution unless everyone is monitoring and vaccinating !?

Interesting debate .. scancell is a different animal now since I started following the story in 2012 ... they ran the phase 1/2 scib1 trial when they had fewer staff and cash ... Covidity will run in my opinion ..

Also agree that there is much more going on than Covidity although that is the hot topic currently for instance Avidimab and as it says in the presentation it’s multiple licensing opportunities ...

I also agree that Cliffs delivery technique is a little dry but I’m not invested in his personality I’m invested in scancells protected science.

Scancell has moved and developed since I started following , it certainly is not a ‘stagnant’ aim company ... it’s value is currently determined by institutional investment and aim traders ... there has yet to be a pharmaceutical industry valuation of any of its science .. that’s what I’m waiting for ... question is ... how long will that wait be ?? Nobody knows ... enjoy the ride til then .. or just sit on the rollercoaster and relax ..

With all those brains on board now too I can’t see the track running out any time soon !

Interesting comments about pharma .. it’s not a secret that scancell couldn’t run a multinational phase 3 trial in thousands of people ... but with the early innovate grant and if early data looks good we can assume there will be further larger funds coming .... where is the risk for a big pharma to partner scancell on Covidity !?

Rather an exciting position to be in for scancell one would think ??

I guess really, this must be a fantastic little biotech company that has been interesting to follow ... why else would folk hang about for 9 or 10 years at least ! To gloat when it fails ??? I don’t think that is the case ?

Bit harsh on Knowlesi .. like many, he says he has a core pot and trades a few .. I guess he’s just keen on getting his core holdings average down as low as possible ... can’t blame him for that .. same strategy as Chelsea7 by the way except Knowlesi is right and Chelsea7 is wrong !? Go figure ?

If the news is happy to talk variants .. then it makes sense to counter the fear created from this to say ‘we are working on it but it’ll take some time’ ? In the mean time get vaccinated with what we have ?

We suffer from constant reactionary decisions .. wouldn’t it be nice to hear something proactive ?

What’s interesting is, scancell might be able to run the phase 1 or phase 1/2 trail in the U.K. with the current cash in the bank ... but when it comes to a large phase 3 possibly multi-national trial in many thousands of people ... scancell will need a big partner just for the logistics!! (Even if the gov funds it!)

Maybe they will wait for early indications from the phase 1 before hooking up with whoever ?... but who knows !? Certainly not me lol !!

Yes, that last sentence is very sobering ... nobody wants that to happen so the drive to be ahead of the game instead of chasing it is now more important than ever ...... in my opinion ..

Just watched a discussion on the news with Dr Chris Smith ... when asked about the variants and tweaking the current vaccines for them he said the tweaking is fairly straightforward but vaccinating 60 million people every year was out of the question .... but that’s where it ended !! No follow on at all !

It’s like the bbc is avoiding reporting on the ‘next generation vaccines’ at all !!

They will have to eventually lol ..

Just passing on what I heard ... this is now an urgent matter and he may or may not know specifically about the Nottingham Vaccine but he just confirmed that this is an area of top priority focus for the U.K. government.
