To short a stock that is about to get a serious leg up seems a bit daft, perhaps it is just the artificial intelligence that is putting Voleon in this position. Given they have been doing badly they would be scrutinising every additional risk their computer is taking on. I appreciate thr market is so full of nasty tricks to rob the investor of his hard earned savings, dog eat dog. Any insight into this murky word Is helpful. So thanks.

Wilson 63, Not sure what you mean about Voleon ulterior motive. Help me out here to make sure I understand the situation. By increasing their short position they would have to ‘borrow’ share at a price which might encourage cheap farming by the MMs hence tree shakes. Now if the market turns as a result of stunning news there will be a scramble for shares and Voleon will be looking to buy the shares at market price to return the borrowed shares. Are they acting honourably or acting for some other entity. This has been intimated by others previously. Let us hope that GM and bod can navigate around the shenanigans. Hope anyone can provide some more insight. Intriguing but also annoying.
