People will of colour need to get out in the sun when they can to allow vitamin D production. At our northerly latitude there is less sunlight than in the south. People with white pale skin can absorb light easily, but then too easily so don’t overdo it! That is all.

This statement is inaccurate ‘Much of our vitamin D intake comes from the sun, dark skins don't absorb so much of sun rays.’ It is the lack of sufficient sunlight at our latitude that is the issue. People with ‘white’ skin i.e. lacking in colour can absorb what little UV light we have hence staying out in the sun for too long is not good for you, ‘cos you get cooked! Whereas people of colour will be more protected from the harmful effects of the sun.

Did notice the very singular palette not very representative of the professional medical population of UK. Perhaps they should change that without delay. Maybe a task for our man VF, he could be instrumental in getting this put to rights.

NCYT has just announced the antibody test ( re Microgen), see RNS. This will be a huge seller in itself as we try to see how effective vaccines are.
Near patient testing trial results to be announced imminently. Possibility of a new concept to be launched speculated to be trademarked as Verslab. This is waiting to be rolled out, not confirmed yet.
News of how we are penetrating the US market considered to be a huge potential source of revenue.

Feel slightly responsible for this thread as having started it. I was trying to speculate who amongst the bloggers / researchers has been selected by NCYT to join there ranks in presumably a marketing / corporate communications role. The thread has evolved into a discussion on whether GM should be in the New Year’s honours list. Hell yes! One hopes that the powers that be will have the vision that there is a great team behind him and worthy of recognition. You get knighted for hitting a furry fluorescent green ball over a net and for yelling obscenities at umpires! FFS! Now stop this thread let GM be knighted for services to industry, for our wellbeing and being a good leader in our hour of need. My unnecessary rant over, apologies.

VanV has already stated it is not him. In VanV we trust. Have not heard much from Bladesharp lately?! I think it is fantastic that they should select someone from the ranks of shareholders. Real pat on the back and recognition that the shareholders have a role in the company’s success. GM has clearly got a good team around him. Look forward to the news next week for the reveal along with sp boosting news!

Anyone shed light on Guardian report that WHO has approved a rapid test. Is this the rapid inexpensive mass testing one that is aimed at reaching all communities. Even if it doesn’t have a gold standard.

“These tests are simple to use and provide reliable results in approximately 15 to 30 minutes, rather than hours or days, at a lower price,” said Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

Anyone shed light on Guardian report that WHO has approved a rapid test. Is this the rapid inexpensive mass testing one that is aimed at reaching all communities. Even if it doesn’t have a gold standard.
