RE: Thermo Fisher/Qiagen13 Aug 2020 15:05
Fellow bloggers I had posted the following earlier today and had very little traction apart from Goliath as the excitement was over the BBC article and the units that may not be ours! Here it is again. ignore the MF article as it is out of date:- Motley Fool article from 4th August makes half decent reading on the subject of Qiagen buyout offer from TF. Before you say βno not MF!β. Lot of speculation in the past few days re GM is mulling(!) over an approach. Perhaps it is AZN. GM maxing out the window dressing with sales, PHE contract, already notified they are working on a rapid antibody test, multiplex test, respiratory test and others. GM has cash to acquire, I wonder if is sniffing around Owlstone Medical (unlisted) https://www.owlstonemedical.com/. Check it out, the scientists amongst the bloggers comment. Could be a very sharp acquisition! Ensuring long term value beyond this awful pandemic. I have been following Owlstone for a while now and they could be good fit for NCYT as they innovate for respiratory testing. Anyway that aside, who knows the Qiagen buyout collapse will serve to keep out any low ball offers if indeed any approaches have been made. We continue the vigil!
