RE: The decision to mine1 Nov 2022 08:44
The decision to mine is now irrelevant!
The road access, Telfer's craving for quality ore, the box cut, the decline the PFS the on site infrastructure, the number of rigs spinning (six is it?) on site, the step out drilling, talk of exploring other targets in the tenement, the $$$ already invested, the stunning speed of development, etc. etc. etc.
Well, what do you think? The decision to mine has been clearly made - it just hasn't been announced yet. When it is it will be 'meh, we knew that already. Tell us something we don't know.'
No, the big inflection point will be the FS. NCM will be looking to show a ROI for all the cash spent and need to justify keeping Telfer open (and the cash spent there as well)! This is why (IMO) the delay and inclusion of more drilling. Watch out for not just the size (10Moz maybe?), cos we know size isn't everything. The mine plan will be key, how much and how soon ore can get to Telfer (and at what average grade) will be the really key information. Life of mine will also be key.
Only then can the investment wizards play with their NPV calcs and we can seriously re-rate.
Until then just keep adding and watch the HAV racing greyhound charge at full speed towards a finish line that is still not visible...
