'Hermes' - 'Conductor of souls into the afterlife'. Perhaps your computer is trying to tell you something. Probably how chips would like to see him/herself too.
Hope your ailments are treated quickly and successfully. Did you get the ice cream maker?
I agree with Lti on this one. Lloyds figures appear sound, given what we've been through and are going through. Perhaps caution is always the watchword for investors, but negative comments about Lloyds seem over emphasised.
Gazz - Chips is a serial nonsense poster. Perhaps you don't like filtering, but chips could be an exception.
Trust you're a little better. ATB.
Yea, b*gger the consultants. They get enough to make their own ice cream.
Gazz- illness certainly is boring. Last time I was seriously laid up, read the complete Dickens on Kindle. Good luck with the ice cream maker!
Gazez - Sorry to read you're not too well. But still typing. Legend!
"No To All Benefits."
Well there goes my state pension and bus pass. NHS? Who knows? Is it a benefit?
Some use it far more than others, so while the cost is shared the use isn't equally shared. So it could be seen as a benefit for some. But isn't this one of the reasons for having 'benefits', to help spread and equalise wealth?
Hurtle - You leave me with a difficult choice.
I can listen to my children, who work, or have worked in 'climate control'. I can listen to their scientist colleagues and respected scientists around the world, on the effects of CO2 emissions. I can examine the evidence for myself and see for myself what's happening to most of the world's glaciers and deserts (one getting smaller, the other larger). Or, I can believe it's all a conspiracy and listen to you. Not too difficult a choice, is it?
Lti - It does astound me how some predict a fall in the SP yet cling grimly to their holding. They could at least sell some and buy back when their expected fall happens. I wonder if their predictions come from analysis, gut feeling or their rather gloomy take on the world.
I'd happily take 70p and head for the door!
It's okay, I found it. HUB Financial Solutions. Never heard of them.
Did you happen to notice the financial services provider SAGA were linking with for equity release?
Lti - It didn't. Anyway, I've had enough. My leg's a bit better and I'll soon return to wandering the wilds of distant lands. Goodbye!
Lti
So what? How far back are you going anyway? And why are you telling us this?
Correction: the dollar over 3 to 1 against the £
In 1960 the Swiss Franc was trading over 4 to 1 against the$, and over 3 to 1 agsinst the £. The Swiss and Americans have done rather well since then. What's your point in saying the BOS £ was once 12 to £ sterling?
Lti - "This is why the SNP wanted their fellow country excluded from the 2014 vote". I took that to mean as they would not vote for Scottish independence. Did you mean something else? I think a lot of Scots living outside Scotland would take an interest if there was the faintest whiff of them getting an EU passport and their lost freedoms back.
Lti - my wife is a Scot living in England. She would vote for Scottish independence.
88 - "been surrounded by some very bad advisors imho". He chose his advisors!
Mac - good to hear my memory wasn't letting me down. I though you wrote of controls on unfettered movement. Perhaps some missed that (those) sentences.
