What we can say about the SFO though is that it's probably the most hopeless institution we have in our civil service although there are othe contenders. It's primary purpose in reality is to protect politicians and people in high places who've gone too far in lobbying for companies who contribute to the current tory government. For me its kinda tragic that its affected PFC in the way it has. A terrific company, I've invested in and out over the years and I've won and lost. I really hope it picks up again. A take-over might be possible but not while all this SFO smoke screen remains in place. I dont want to even think about the SFO or Lufkin for a bit though. Cheers

Paddyboy was telling us lots of great things and having bromance with several others on this board. He porobaly tried to talk it up as much as he could then sold up and disapeared. Basically same ide as those who attempt to talk shares down and then come back in later. Watch out for these people all agreeing somethings going to rocket without any real rationalle! i've cut my losses, especially after seeing these bogus director buy ins ealier in the week.

Well said LLucan and good to see you popping up. We hadn't heard from you in quite some time! You have to wonder about why they'd need yet another 3 months. My guess is that Lufkin could potentially blow the cover on some higher profile people and the SFO are out to protect their buddies who work round the corner? If so, then its not actually about preventing fraud is it? All said I'm still hanging in, I believe the company will recover long term but very frustrating all round!

Well he scraped through his business studies degree at Cambridge, crawled through his PhD then bummed about over at Yale for a year's post doc. But now he's back. To be honest RealityB I'd take more stall in hearing from current Petrofac employees as they are generally very engaged people working for a very responsive company. I'd love someone to explain to me what a "net zero world" actually means?
If we take a better look globally, the population graph is what rally matters and the only country who've tried to do anything about it are China, "the bad boys", with their 1 child, two child and now relaxed to 3 child family policy..

Whether we like it or not, companies like Petrofac will have big role to play for a long time yet, at least that's what I see as reality.

Some interesting comments re macros/micros w.r.t this share price. In terms of the market, there's been affair bit of recovery so far so it may stutter a bit through rest of 2021 ? As to what was termed micros, I'd take this to mean the fundamentals at Petrofac and claiming back market share is what will affect this price the most .I.M.O.
Say it gets to around 170/180 later in the year (as there will also be bad days in oil and gas business) then it might conceivably hit 200 in spring 2022. Educated guess /conjecture but if it happens I'll take a the train from Grangemouth to Kings Cross and head for the roof top bar on the corner of Trafalgar square on a Friday afternoon, two doors down from the SFO. If anyone cares to join me we'll down some ****tails with the SFO staff who spend their Friday afternoons there, without fail!

If it goes the way we think we could be downing champagne with the SFO staff who regularly frequent the posh roof top bar in ****spur Street. Thanks for info Paddy, appreciated re timelines. My point is that we cant really blame the SFO in itself. Senior government and senior Civil Servants know full well the SFO doesn't have a hope in hell of dealing with serious fraud. In reality, most of them like it that way!

Fraud is actually defined in several ways but in this context something like : wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain. So as we know this type of activity is rife throughout almost all business, especially where there's much to gain.
So then we have the Serious Fraud Office just off Trafalgar Square which is there to deal with things when it gets serious! On the website we're all invited to report any suspicions of instances where serious fraud may have been going on. There's a shortcut to upcoming court cases showing an average of just under one per month this year. My guess is an out of court settlement some time soon for Petrofac but given the complete fiasco that is the SFO, who knows!

Hard to say but suspect Johny Two Toes could be involved is some way. We know he changed sides and this has his mark on it given his friends in high places?

Blackrock are a big guns investor, its looks to me like a programmed short position reduction where they avoid snap decisions using some complex algorithm a-dythm….:)

Re the BBC publicity on SFO it could help put on some pressure which may eventually take effect at SFO but also draws attention to the issue and maybe having a negative effect mean time. For me its still hang in. Results and Sami's comments don't hide from the difficulty in landing contracts but rewards can be high.

Interesting and agree with you guys ie why so unloved but then again it does well with the larger corporate investors, just doesn't hit the headlines. (other than the crappy school meals!) I picked this in among a few others last year when I was thinking about lockdown recovery, it was simple as that. Lost out bad as the second wave hit home but won back bigstyle on the vaccine news. Might be oversimplifying but believe Compass can only keep recovering as people get back to work, travelling etc....And no more crappy school meals for the kids, please!
