Thanks for these comments gents really intersting. I'm in the chemical processing game in Grangemoth myself but what I do know from many contacts in local oil and gas is that off shore engineering and high tech engineering of this type is a very denading game where Petrofac have measured up well and remain very well placed. The opporumities are out there as you've pointed out, some would say boundless. The idea of a tie in with the chinese is interesting and not unexpeced as china and India have a relentless presence but we're not just talking middle east. The opportunities are there from North Africa through Asia and into the far east for this company. Thanks again
Thanks Gilljoe good to hear from someone in the know. Where do you see main opporunities for Petrofac going forward?
...yes so much so...amateur!
...plus whatever they charge you for the trade of course. Been at this game for decades but still an amatuer!
Thanks, good point Divhunter. IG also reminded me the funds should be made available in my account if I take up the offer. To be ion the safe side I'm taking that to mean ensure the funds are there at the time of letting them know I'll take it up, which I personally intend to do in full. At least this time we dont have to worry about the SP jumping around when we put in the funds to cover a trade. Simple case of £1.15 times your entilement. :)
Folks I stated last week that I have a dealine with my broker (IG) to let them know if I wish to take up the offer by 4th November. Please note that this deadline will vary fom broker to broker.
The official line on closing deadline is that the Open Offer is expected to close at 11.00 a.m. on 11 November 2021 but please check with your own broker. They'll generally look for you to act well before the deadline.

Colonel I dont see anything in the article you posted to suggest petrofac have no chance re Adnoc. This project is only in phase one and petrofac lost out for reasons we all know about. Personally I think it was harsh treatment given Adnoc are very well aware of the was business is done in this sector and Adnoc are aware it was harsh. It was understandable though once the SFO dealt with it in the protracted way they did. There are opportunities all across the middle east and well beyond for petrofac.
Wheelie if you mean all shareholders in addition to major shareholders as in subject of ths post, then yes, all shareholders who held shares prior to close of play of 26th Oct.
Intersetingly shorters are shipping out at this turn of events.
Eurofil, Pchips,
I trade with IG and they emailed me yesteday evening to inform me of the offer. 1 share for every 4 I own at £1.15 offer price, dealine for uptake is 4th Nov. You may also have something similar from your broker by now. If not maybe worrh asking them.
Nice one....oooooh Matron! Mary these people wont remember Frankie Holard :)
Current jump in share price reflets the potential for this very competent company to get back in the game as we've all noted and the SFO saga now becoming a memory. None the less needs to be lesson learned. New projects/contracs is of course the next stage and buy back stock on loan is a very good sign thanks for post Auson. It'll take time but as said, petofac an very responsive outfit. There will be boat drinks on deck, sadly I pictiure Snapper and Buffer pitching up in a crampted inflatable asking for a cold beer, time will tell!
..any time from now for those who've hung in. Snapper under water works in well with that image :)
Yes and just to be clear, despite any of my surmisings, the investigation done, over, finito and anyone suggesting otherwise is doing out of deperation.
Jings Rajbury I hope you dont start spell checking my emails, They're generally a mess but I care not a jot ( i.e iota or yod, tenth letters of the Greek and Hebrew alpahabets respectively) .
I agree entirely with Sharefall though, idiocy and a thoroughly inneffective branch of the civil service we all pay for but we are none the less much happier in the PFC ship now . Well said Warthog, as we've discussed before the SFO has more than one purpose in reality, another main one being to protect people in high places. The length of time this enquiry took will be forever unexplained but the fact that it took so long will be no bad thing for those who were lobbying for pertofac, for whatever reason, at the time of the so called bribery.
Ooooh jolly good Bransonbull you've joined Paddy's wise after the event club but I think there are maybe four letter missing at the en of your name. Give us something interestin rather than your personall lucky days!
Fair call ICC and always good to hear something from working in this buasiness, however optimistic it may be, I think the sentiment is right. I'll take that on board before anything from Paddyboy and entourage! He who told us he was in this for the long game, not selling for anything and now in and out the nest like a cuckoo! Did you asked him if he "rised up" yesterday on a whim as proposed. Who cares, I'm still planning on champers in the roof top bar two doors down from the SFO....at some point in the long game!
Oh come ye back when summers on the meadow
And when the valley's hushedand soft with snow
Oh Paddy boy, oh Paddy boy we love you so...Slift and other goons are missing your sage advices old boy!
PS. Dick are you descended from the Pullars the Cleaners dynasty by chance?
And yet the share price for both these companies in the 764 million dollar joint venture has dropped steadily over the past month.

Fair comment Warthog.
What we can say about the SFO though is that it's probably the most hopeless institution we have in our civil service although there are othe contenders. It's primary purpose in reality is to protect politicians and people in high places who've gone too far in lobbying for companies who contribute to the current tory government. For me its kinda tragic that its affected PFC in the way it has. A terrific company, I've invested in and out over the years and I've won and lost. I really hope it picks up again. A take-over might be possible but not while all this SFO smoke screen remains in place. I dont want to even think about the SFO or Lufkin for a bit though. Cheers
