Held onto all my BHP shares with my broker (IG.com) for the maean time and glad I did. Not seen anything to suggets I cant continue as is but will let you know if broker informs me to the contrary at any point. IG normally bvery good at keeping investors informed and in advance of any change to arrangements.

Anyone any insights into 5% drop since the turn of the year? Link to 6% drop in NASDAQ over same period is main thing I can suggest?

Folks, thanks for you generous contributions to our bail out fund. The committee have not identified anyone deserving of a bail out at this stage. Quetta was given due consideration bur rejected unanimously in view of ongoing antisocial and downright idiotic attitude. The good news is that the copious funds now roll over for the next person we encoumter who has lost out badly and deserves a leg up.

You had us all thinking you were crapping your pants and in fact reaching for the pampers but now we're thinking you may have just been hoping to deramp? Please explain yourself Quetta!!

When you invest direct in the stock market you take your chance Quetta, you know this. The good thing about Scooby Doo is that they always unmask the villain/s at the end! The villains in this case are often those who are insider trading and no one on these boards ever has any inside knowledge, not even those working quite high up in the companies concerned. Insider trading is strictly illeagal of course but I haven't seen anyone unmasked in quite some time!

I dont have a problem with clowns posting stuff on he board personally, lets face it the stock market is more of a circus now than it's ever been. I noted no comments at all to my sage and considered note "tapped up" but old tortoises aside I think there's maybe an elephant in the room and we may simply have been done over? Not convinced by arguments re shorts closing having so much influence on the share price.
That aside we can feel a little agrieved at the moment. I've taken up open offers before but never agaist a backdrop of such a marked drop in share price. I did it in part to cut the losses incurred by the announcement itself as well as having long term faith in this company. As I see it the main reason the share priced dropped is that share holders were being tapped up to supply funds for two purposes as as stated in the announcement: To "pay the SFO fine over Jan/Feb" and to pay off "existing indebteness". Hence that wasnt seen as such a great thing by many principle ivestors but some may have scored big time if they responded quickly or were in the know running up to the announcement. Conversely, us small time investors have lost out big time at the moment, lets just admit it but as to the future I still have faith. I dont expect to break even untill well into the new year against the £1.58 price we were on before this latest episode.
