Yare, I have always admired and supported the Prof, however I tend to agree with you on this occasion. Under the circumstances it was a reasonable request. Perhaps it's time for a clean sweep, I too will be supporting all motions.
Beside drawing a salary can anyone state what any of the following have contributed to the company? Seamus FitzPatrick (Non-executive Deputy Chairman) Dr Sorca Conroy (Non-executive Director) Louis Maguire (Non-executive Director) Michael Power (Non-executive Director) David Wathen (Non-executive Director)
Which of the 9 have earned their pay? Payments to the board - including fees, share options, pension contributions and other compensation - for the seven years to May 2016 totalled £3.6m, an average of 56% of total operating expenses,
Does anyone seriously believe that the Prof intends to build a diamond mine, I don't, I believe once the viability of a mine is proven beyond doubt, the company will be sold at a premium to give the Prof the funds for his dream, an Irish goldmine.
I am a long term holder of CGNR and have averaged down many times over the years, I am happy to read opinions of others whether they are holders or not, I have myself posted on boards where I am not invested but am considering in investing or am just interested in. As far as I am aware the boards are open to anyone not just for the exclusive use of investors.
I've been here since almost the beginning, ignored all the tripe from the Bolton man (Kaiser) "that these will soar over the weekend" I invested in a company that where carrying out Diamond exploration, I believed in the expertise of those running the company and further believed that given time they would produce results. Time being the operative word, anyone investing for a quick profit should not be in a mineral exploration project. I have great faith in the BOD and am prepared to wait as long as it takes for the return on my investment (hopefully my grandson will enjoy the rewards)
Kev, in answer to your question ' if you invested £10,000 and it went down to £50 you'd sell up?' Yes, I would sell up and give up investing in stocks, furthermore I would blame myself as it would of been my choice nobody else.
If I hold a stock that is down and trust the future actions of the BOD will lift the price I hold or average down, If I have no faith in the BOD and feel their actions will cause the SP to drop further I sell (even if at a substantial loss). I am currently at a substantial paper loss in CGNR and am holding and slowly adding to that holding. Better I think than doing nothing but moaning on here.
Have a couple of posts disappeared from here since I last looked?
Thank you Jay Monk and Rforrester for sharing your research, much more valuable to me than opinion.
