Suspension is being bandied about quite a bit on the board.
Suspension of shares occurs frequently with companies logging through major structural changes, metamorphoses, rebirth, etc.
or prior to collapse (lol).
In these situations, attempting a valuation forecast on the outcome is often about as good as ‘weighing ayre.’. Whether investing or trading, you are placing a bet. You have taken a position based on some (incomplete) knowledge, research and experience of the market/sector, arriving at a best estimate of the future.
In this instance, a probable RTO, as part of the process, there is inevitably going to be a suspension, if/when news - then you’re either in or out. I have already remained invested through two here and returned to market at a healthy premium. (As well as in other troubled shares during the last 12 months).
When you think about it, your shares are suspended in any case every evening at 4.30pm until 8.00am the following morning, let alone weekends, during which time all manner of things can and frequently do, occur. RNS’s mostly arrive outside of dealing hours. A gap up or down will bypass your stops. You are powerless over your investment during such periods. Faith kicks in. You remember your plan (you do have a rock solid plan don’t you? Of course you do) and stick to it. The amount you have riding on this is sensible - a bit risky yes, but manageable - so you don’t make a spontaneously bad, emotionally based, knee-jerk decision, resulting in missing out on the big one. That’s the curse of too much greed.
Trade on top if you must but you will likely lose out as a consequence. It will confuse your mindset. A bit of noise, random or conspiratorial - could leave you in a gully locked out and bitter.
Best to just move away from the terminal lol and get on with something more pleasing and perhaps useful.
Anyway feel free to add anything that you have relevant to market suspensions
Preferably with links. So we can iron out the pros and cons here.
Always wishing to lurn.
