O & S - I get NO adverts these days. USed to come on sometimes when refreshed screen or when open a new LSE share page or move between chat and chart.

May be partly down to a pop-up ad blocker ( AdBlockPlus ) which blocks most ads, but I used the "cookie" widget in the address bar on the right next to mark as favourite ( on Chrome ) and via the "show cookies and other site data" link in the drop down menu , you can turn off certain page elements, e.g. the side bars and bottom adverts.
And no ill effects on the charts or chat pages!

Result.

OCDO rising in a straight line so far .... interim figures are out on 14 July and could be quite good following lockdown performance. Although this could already be priced in?

What's that phrase - buy on the expectation, sell on the news?

S - yep, read the MCRO interim financials RNS, quite a big loss.... looks like not all factored in the price hence the drop into 390's - maybe institutional investors getting out / stop loss orders? Could be worth a top up.

Got some cheap Mitchells & Butlers - may not have been a good idea as apparently a few new covid cases from pub goers over the weekend which may lead to pubs closing again! Majority of pub shares down.

M - CCL - wish I knew; there was a RNS this morning covering delayed ship refurb and delivery of new ship, but not running until Q1 2021, and cruises Nov - Feb cancelled or changed. I'd guess it will hover around 980 then start a slow rise as long as no more bad news. Travel supposed to start on 10 July so may drag CL along with it?

S - good price on CCL.
Disappointed a bit in my price - thought I had missed the dip into the 1018's as it rose to 2030 again, so bought as soon as I saw it drop to 1020. Had a limit buy set at 998 .... should have left it for tomorrow as it would have activated!

Ohh well, out of practice!

R - Indeed on the VAT - thought VAT was 20% anyway, unless some business rate applied?? Maybe a leak from Wednesdays mini budget or just some error on the share news?

Interesting on the give-aways .. everyone or means tested, and would that be vouchers for certain business types, like cafes, pubs etc.?

Seen on the Mitchells & Butlers news on HL in their half year results :
"City centre sites have been the slowest to recover, but conversely some suburban businesses have generated days of year on year growth," the company said and it expected a quick recovery assisted by year-long cut in VAT to 7% from 19%.

T - Found it! I had been on that page with the high, low, open close prices per day in a table. Had expected a chart but the table is fine.
I had been looking at the intraday chart each day to see the individual spikes and shakes, make a note on the "top" and "bottom" prices and a quick calc for my number of shares. Couple of good profits each trade. Maybe a couple of times a day. Just didn't act on it at the time ... as I posted here how much I missed out on if I had capital available!

So back to my trading style from 3 weeks ago and it will be a winner this week.

Thanks for the guidance, think I lost my nerve this past 2 weeks but all fine now.

Registered for LiveCharts. Don't think they are working yet! Wasn't a menu on the left! Company chart is same as the historic one on LSE chart.

S - I DO use the live charts on HL and LSE - although they are 15 mins delayed ( live prices on HL ). Remember I used the fast stochastic on HL as well. T was referring to using livecharts.co.uk to review what my position would have been IF I had been trading OCDO or CCL etc.
I've had my court martial ;-) so I'll be back in the game next week.

Raining a lot up here, apparently some pubs open at 6 am today, ones near me waiting until Monday!

T - Please don't think I am disregarding / ignoring your very helpful advice, I think I am suffering from that thing O said about novice traders getting early success being a bad thing.
I had roughly worked out how much I could have made on CCL and OCDO movements over the last 2 weeks, and each was a reasonable amount. So yes it would have covered the "loss" I was watching.
Looked at Livecharts.co.uk, what pages do you suggest using, there are loads of options!

Ohh yeah, those OCDO were bought mid June as the price fell, and I averaged down. I think you got some at around the 2060 level, but you traded yours!

T - Don't worry about going at me to trade, it'll sink in soon! You're examples just reinforce what I know I should do.
I'm still in profit from starting to trade here in what, Feb 20? So technically would lose nothing - free money! And when there is a range / volatility I can do OK.
OCDO were bought around 2130 and 2060 so average around 2090 ... this morning sale near 2080 would have been fine!
I know the mechanics and I am happy when I have the funds, but as you noticed I watch and wait when in a loss position. When I think I'll sell they fall so I wait more!

Looking back at my performance I find I do better when I am not here!! Limit sell and buys worked well for me - I guess as no emotion involved, even if I miss the absolute best low and high prices, and it's locked in.

I'll get there, don't worry!

M - Yes, I worked just over that bridge but live on the north side. Where they have a Rugby League team ( and NOT wigan! )

The 5 mile travel in Scotland limit ends tomorrow, so any one for a haggis hunt in the highlands? ( not you T as your limited to 5 miles still! ).
I think the country list is out now, not seen it though, and tomorrow home office non essential travel /flying ban ( unless you have a holiday home in Greece to get ready to let! ) ends.

T - Another good illustration of trading when it works... totally follow it and that's what I was doing across a couple of shares a few weeks ago when I got it right. Partly waiting on price to rise but only so I am not crystallising a couple £K per share loss.
Let's see how the pubs move once open, and CINE in August when they open again ( don't really want to hold that long but if there was volatility / daily range may cut my losses and trade them! ). All a bit flat / sideways ( or down! ).

It's start of the F1 season this weekend so I'm sorted.

CCL announced yesterday afternoon a delay in the Aida cruise line until end August; may have helped the price to fall today.

On the CCL board someone has posted a draft long list of countries "open" for travel - it looks wrong based on this mornings BBC news ( e.g. has Greece on the open list but Greece is not open for at least 2 more weeks ). Spain, Italy, France and Germany are OK for England travellers.
Travel list to be confirmed at 12pm.

Boris is to deliver an announcement this afternoon, partly to help avoid people going mad in the pub tomorrow!
