I was down in Dorset recently checking remedial action results on the above (without learning a great deal). The exercise was because of a belief that Manolo will shortly be taking on the challenge of Block 8 and possibly more in Loreto province. If so, it will be a big step: cleaning up Poole harbour/estuary is very different to jungle waterways.

I frequently amble along Jurassic coast with a hand pick, parking next to Perenco's Kimmeridge oilfield (quietly chugging away since 1963). It's a great spot for anyone interested in geology. Stratigraphy is clearly seen along the cliff face.

a) I treat the Pucallpa river level at the pier as indicative of what is happening downstream at Bretaña. (The Iquitos measurement is taken at the "barra".) Pucallpa had a welcome 1+ m increment in 24 h

d) would like to think Manolo will shortly become a leading figure on three Loreto problem blocks . . . in which case PTAL will be the main O&G player in Peru. (José L Contreras' appointment also has a purpose, whatever it is.)

At present I can not see a standout candidate for the post. Wondering if Michelle Jenkins can be considered as a safe pair of hands. She has been onsite regularly in Tanz (Saza, Singida, Dodoma) and WK (Kakamega). Also has connections with AngloAmerican via Kumba Iron Ore leadership.

I admit to being biased but we need someone who is hands on . . . and has Eric's energy . . . preferably having east Africa in their veins.

Agreed. + Have been keeping an eye on water levels at three stations as they are down on previous year. Would like to see maximum shipments short term as numbers could come under threat over the dry season.
