We'll learn shortly what impact the Juruá, Purus and Maranon tributaries have had on Amazon river levels following heavy downpours in the last three days. It's drier around Pucallpa (Ucayali) at present but Manolo should be able to get the barges moving faster. (Hopefully platform ops are not obstructing quayside movements.) River levels' report in the next two hours.

The Ucayali at Pucallpa is currently rising at ~8 cm daily and should run at ~1 knot at this time. You can therefore estimate how long a body of water will reach Iquitos where the next daily measurements are taken.

If you are a grasshopper the next well result will be in the second half of November.

Bang up to date visual of the mine. Excuse my bias . . . I have high hopes on a) mine extensions and b) mineralisation north of Singida town although unsure on any options we have up there. NB > I don't know the Dodoma region as well as Mbeya and WK.

My knowledge on procedure in Kenya is zero but the endless complications elsewhere (southern Africa) have been painful. I don't think Eric has addressed this minefield yet. The general rule is no permit = no mining.

Someone here may have greater experience.

Shortterm travellers would do better to remain schtum rather than mislead those who have a genuine interest.

In view of river level at the jetty, shipments in late-September - up to 30/09 - are very good. At barely 3 metres depth, congestion and multiple ops it must take some real planning. In sum, far better than expected.

El Niño/La Niña is indeed a strange beast. Have followed its effects since 1970. Also the jetstream is well north of its expected position. Because I follow rainfall across Chile and SA for different reasons, it is notable that all major WesternCape reservoirs are overflowing (very rare) @ 105%/110%. Perhaps 2023 will turn out better than expected.
