He is getting on a bit so probably wants to enjoy retirement. I agree it is notable that he did not take part in buying out Glencore. I am pleased he wants to sell as he is now in the same boat as most of us!

Not sure if ZIOC think this Dad's Army consortium is the strategic investor. Hopefully not. Not sure the investor event will attract that many people unless there is more news beforehand.

In terms of a series of announcements are being worked on. Yes, that did happen. Obviously he couldn't say too much so it was never alluded to that Glencore would exit. Unless there is further news planned, I think it would be fair to say the impact on share price wasn't what I expected. It was said the announcements would surprise the market...perhaps they have but not how we wanted so far.

Just a shame our management team chose to line their own pockets instead of using their broker's valuation...

I thought he interviewed well. If people of this calibre are invested it is a big positive. They will want to make substantial returns. I don't rule out an investor wanting the whole lot near term, the sooner they offer the better the price they will get imo. I think the board want to prove up more of Zanaga to increase the value but would be open to a deal now. Let's be honest it's the 4.1p price and Glencore exit which has miffed us a bit. The investor event is needed to discuss that openly.

I did mean the offeror. I thought the rules did apply if the shares are listed on a UK market but I the company being registered in the BVI means the takeover vote wouldn't apply. Perhaps not a bad thing as less likely Greymont could do a takeover on the cheap.

Def need to ask about valuation at the Investor Event. Unfortunately I will be abroad so cannot attend but will follow the board closely.

Interesting point. We have one holder who would need to accumulate 4% odd now to then have to make a mandatory takeover order at the highest price paid in the last 12 months.

Wouldn't surprise me if Glencore get a nice entry into the Middle East after this news. I suspect alot goes on behind the scenes which we do not see.

Some big names and track records now involved. Mentions of Manara and Saudi in the RNS as well as Vale. Looks like they want to auction Zanaga off. Glencore stepping away is a surprise. Definitely not a dormant asset anymore. Investor event will be well worth attending.

It's doesn't really matter to me. I don't pay too much attention to AI driven posts or likewise if I think under researched people are bashing the stock. I have bought my shares and will be holding for the outcome I expect. I guess if you don't have conviction you shouldn't be investing.

Thanks for all the posts today. When I found the article I thought it helped put a value on Zanaga. Put it this way 100p seems very doable. The Japanese are renowned for being cautious investors and very very detailed on everything. They have played it safe by going with Australia and it's fair to say RoC carries more country risk. However this tells us there is demand for grades like Zanaga and it WILL be developed. I read another article yesterday saying Saudi Arabia wants to be the construction centre of the world over the next few years. They have to be a contender still.
