I must admit Glencore is a tricky one. ZIOC has a market cap of £15m yet Glencore have invested many multiples of that on the project already. You would think they want to recoup that money but who is going to offer 40 times the current market cap of ZIOC for their share. I think the Chinese want control so my guess would be that they buy out ZIOC and do a deal with Glencore where they cover the costs of the infrastructure build in return for royalty streams. Must stress that is a complete guess and others may have better ideas than me.

Not build a steel mill. These guys built one of the biggest dams in the world in China. By comparison this is not a big project.

Separately, worth noting that China are the 2nd biggest market globally for green bonds. These are bonds are where the debt issued is used solely for ESG aims. China is making a bigger push than the general public assumes to reduce pollution. Hence they want projects like Zanaga where the pollution will be outside their own country.

Surely the Chinese want to buy Zanaga but it needs to be at a price that Glencore are happy with. Glencore are traders at the end of the day.

They don't want the pollution in China hence they want to build in Congo. These guys don't muck about, they have been behind huge projects. A steel mill in Congo is not a difficult project for them.

This is worth no where near what Archer has raised via placing. Surely he has to be replaced by someone who can actually add value!!

You dont have to sell. Your online broker will have a corporate actions team which will process the offer and deliver the funds to your account on the day the takeover officially takes place. You have nothing to lose by holding and waiting for another offer until then, though that may be unlikely.

This is a key point. Good post. Every time China has had a bumpy ride economically they have invested billions. It is what they do. They don't want to rely on the west. They want to buy up assets themselves for the long term. This is a historical fact and one which bodes well for ZIOC.

I think there is more to it. He launched and failed with his own takeover bid. He now does not want to invest in the management who won over him. I don't see it as a negative. In fact once he is out and the overhang has gone I would expect a sustained rise in the coming months.

I will accumulate up to 20p and target up to 35p.

All the small time day traders can do as they please. Opportunities like ESL require a bit of holding to get the full benefit. 3 to 6 months and the share price will be far higher than now imo.

Shows what you know, most brokers have charity accounts which you can transfer unwanted holdings to by filling out a form. These have just dropped too far to come back now I fear.

Hope the world boycotts Chinese manufacturing after this mess. They have been very dirty and unhygienic and now we all pay the price. As they say life is not fair sometimes! Anyway onwards and upwards.

The Chinese do not want to rely on the west for materials.

This is effectively the Chinese Government working with Zioc to take the mine into production. Yes, coronavirus and probably the funding concern here have had an impact on the share price but the market cap currently is a drop in the ocean for the Chinese. I haven't seen too many opportunities like this in nearly 20 years' of investing. We all have to have our own strategy and attitude to risk. There could be some big gains here once Zioc tell us more about the Chinese partnership. I think some are missing the detail here and perhaps have a lack of experience with small cap volatility.

Keep calm and accumulate. COIDC is a big deal.
