Funny; I went into Waterstones in Bath on Monday for the same reason. They had stacks of books on Investing, but I only found one that had any real comment on Technicals and that was pretty poor. Thanks for tip re: iii sight. Will have a look.

Primarily I invest for long term, so techs are secondary for me, to being happy (as far as possible) with fundamentals. In particular I like to try to meet the key people. However I do try and keep and eye on the techs. and appreciate your analysis. My own experience and understanding of Techs. is not what it should be although probably getting better as time goes by. Thought I would try and buy a book on Bollinger Bands at Master Investor Conference next weekend. Can you recommend anything that is not too technical and written in clear easy to understand terms?

I note on the Candlestick chart, that there is quite a big gap early March around the £2.30 level. Should I be concerned that this has to be filled, or have I got this all wrong?

In your research, what convinced you to buy? Do you think the bottom has been reached and that significant orders will finally materialise?

Noise on Advfn & iii blog about a possible take-over. Sounds like it might be a false alarm. But at these prices (market cap) you can see how vulnerable Scotty is take-over, especially given the supposed contracts which are waiting to be signed off.

RNS out this morning. Great performance. 17% growth in gold production and av. cash cost down to UD$184per oz. Are there any Gold Producers who have a lower cash cost? Medusa confirm they will exceed production target for fiscal year to 30th June (89000 oz) and are on target for 100,000oz pa (25000oz per quarter from Q1 2010). They have US$35.5 million in cash. The exploration upside is very exciting and they aim to become idc a 300000/400000 oz pa producer. The SP represents great value currently IMO.

News out today. "Conceptual potential" of CO-O alone looks very exciting. Quarterly report due by end of January. Can we expect more good news? Uplift in output. Share price has suffered recently, but I expect it to be back up to £2.50 quite soon. DYOR

I wouldn't be surprised if all the hot money has been chasing VGM, CGH etc. Even CEY has held up much better than Medusa. But not so many people know about this stock and we have been trading in a quite news period. I expect all to change again soon.

Riddler - wouldn't you say a Head & Shoulder pattern had formed with resistance at £1.85? What would you expect to normally happen after the final shoulder formation touching £1.85? It is already oversold, so can't see it falling much lower, although to buy more at £1.25 would be amazing!

This price is bargain basement stuff IMO. Not sure about the Chart though. Update due by end of January, so could bounce strongly if Gold holds up. Although due to being one of the lowest cost producers, shouldn't be so tied to gold price.

On ADFVN someone has posted about a DATAMONITOR report dated December 2009 which puts Scotty Group in the Top 10 Security Hardware Vendors, but also suggests this is the fatest growing sector of the Top 10. Recognition from an extremely highly respected independent Research Group. Can't be bad. WOW Could this be the start of a fantastic year for Scotty?

Further purchase orders worth approx Euros 550,000 for videoconferencing equipment. Not the "big" one, but proves we are still alive and kicking. Brokers Note should following soon.

Big rise today on back of exciting Hallin Marine news

My last post here was 13th May when I said it was undervalued at £1.35 and "value would out". Why didn't I follow my own advice? At least I held onto half my holding!
