Autostore in 2021 has had one if it's asserted patents revoked by the European Patent Office as a result of Ocado disputing it.

Ocado's top 2 shareholders have bought over £100m in shares recently. They have an expert view on the court case. One of those shareholders sits on Ocados board.

There's a wide range of companies who would love to add Ocado's knowledge base and experience to theirs. One of them I'd highlight is Uber who have repeatedly stated their desire to ramp up their involvement in online grocery.

That's the latest iteration of the dispute but it goes back long before that. 2015 are when the first court cases were contested.

All of Ocado's overseas customers carried out due diligence and signed exclusive contracts. Marks and Spencers signed the biggest upfront contract by parting with £750m in exchange for half of Ocado retail UK. In 2021 the joint venture between Marks and Ocado is ramping up its CFC capacity greatly (by around 40%) despite the ongoing court cases. Kroger, Aeon, Sobeys, Coles, ICA are all in the process of building their CFCs in conjunction with Ocado as soon as possible.

Tesla and Ocado are similar style companies. Both completely groundbreaking. Ocado have tackled the incredibly complex issue of online grocery automation using robotics and Ai and delivery. Tesla are tackling hyper complex self driving vehicles amongst many projects. As either company cracks these incredibly difficult tasks then the Ai and robotics they develop can be used in many other industries.

There should be calmer conditions ahead after the recent volatile period for the Ocado share price. The 2 biggest shareholders have given a huge indication that they see that mid £19 as a definite buy and that they are acquiring and holding once again. There was talk that the director buys in February were trying to prop up the share price. The recent huge buys by Jorn and London Amsterdam Trust though go beyond simply trying to prop the price up. They see ££ opportunity and have pounced before the price hikes once again ..

I don't Ed_win. Usually very little news that sways Ocado's share price comes from the AGM. It's mostly about shareholder voting on director pay. Shareholders approving new directors to the board etc. Functional stuff rather than any insight on new deals or current trading.

A further point is that the 2 big shareholders - Jorn Rausing and London Amsterdam trust did not sell any shares when the Ocado share price hit the heights of £28/29. They didn't because they thought they believe the share price is worth more.

Highly probable that these 2 shareholders who together hold around 22% of Ocado's equity will hold at least until the share price hits £28/29 again... This backing and solidity of investor belief has been key to Ocado's growth. It will continue to be so to an even greater degree after the new purchases by both shareholders.

The overall share market has driven almost every downwards. When the light emerges, which it will, I think Ocado will jump forward. Til then best thing to do is research and hold.

The history of both Jorn Rausing and London Amsterdam Trust (headed by Nick Roditi) investment and association with Ocado goes way back. Both invested in Ocado heavily before it's IPO in 2010 (investing at a value equivalent to less than £1 a share) Both also upped their holdings by adding significant buys in the IPO at £1.80.

The history, insight and knowledge base regarding Ocado they have built up over the years it's safe to assume is immense.

Both of them see an upturn on the horizon. Tim Steiner has outlined his hope for more contracts as lockdowns/travel restrictions eases. The big 2 shareholders buys indicate they are seeing that also..

I have just topped up at £19.34. Many signs pointing towards positive trends, better times ahead. Current SP extremely good value.

Cheers for posting. Always good to have new perspectives on here. That would be a small contributing factor but the general negative market forces have been by far the major force dictating things. Ocado's directors have been predominantly buying in 2021. The value of the sharesave scheme holdings, outside that of director holdings, won't be able to move the market much. It's size is small compared to the holdings of the big players.

Hope you can post more on here. From your post I take it you work or have worked for Ocado? Am interested in your general impression of the company. Any thoughts? Did they treat them well? Did you treat them well .. lol ?

Another point is that the 2 biggest shareholders of Ocado (London and Amsterdam Trust, and Jorn Rausing via his Apple fund) have been historically long for many, many years. Very little changes to their holdings. No sells, some occasional buys.

So it is very safe to assume that the £54m of shares Jorn had bought recently and the 0.38% of Ocado that London and Amsterdam trust have bought will not be sold by them for many years. Effectively these share acquisitions by these 2 players has led to less liquidity in the market.

Of course the buy transactions by the big 2 Ocado shareholders were facilitated by enough people selling. There are many sellers of Ocado stock around but the fact that these 2 players are buying, and buying big chunks is very encouraging. Their knowledge and insight on OCDO stock is the best out there.

If we follow their lead and long hold from now I believe there are significant rewards ahead...

Especially as Ocado may want to distract away from the probable news that many shareholders have voted against Tim Steiner's pay at the AGM today

I wonder if any extra news regarding Ocado will be issued today... Won't be trading statement etc but it's possible some news may be released in some way, ie in an interview.
