The 2 currently fully operating Kroger CFCs have been open a short time but Thursdays results could give an insight as to trading volumes/demand. Possibility of updates on existing and future Kroger CFC builds also.

The near certain delay of lockdown easing due to the delta variant should provide extra momentum to Ocado shares. The delta variants ability to harm those who have had 2 doses of Covid vaccine (12 out of 42 who have died from covid variant had received both sides of Covid vaccine) poses very difficult problems for government. The UK publics caution should translate into rising Ocado retail sales.

Yes, Kroger know their market inside out. From an Ocado perspective it is very encouraging that Kroger are showcasing their Ocado experience and putting maximum effort in launching the offering. That benefits Ocado as well as Kroger. Other potential overseas grocer clients around the world will be able to envisage how Ocado can help them more clearly by looking at Krogers new service.

An Ocado Solutions contract with a South Korean grocer would be a very valuable one. The online grocery market is double the size there than it is in the UK. Have a look at the online grocery penetration by country table in the link below (data is from 2016 but current trend is similar)

The 10 year US treasury yield continues to fall today as it has done over the last month. Background conditions for tech/growth shares are improving as the US economy is not expanding as fast as some thought. The earlier rotation out of tech shares looks overdone. Ocado share price showing good signs of upward momentum currently..

To clarify - The 2 biggest Ocado shareholders have bought a little over £100m in total of Ocado shares recently.

See Ocado RNS's on 13th May, 11th May and 7th May. All are big buys by either London Amsterdam Trust or Jorn Rausing. They are Ocado's 2 largest shareholders. In total they both hold around 24% of Ocado's total equity. Both of these shareholders are very long term holders. They have started adding to their positions recently.

Shares rising up today. Validating the £100m+ big buys by the 2 biggest Ocado shareholders. Also validating the nibbles of top up shares we personally have posted on this board. Buy n hold. 2 Kroger CFCs open, Paris CFC posting good sales. Canadian CFC a great success so far, a second there on its way.

With no overseas holidays for us Brits I can see a lot of holiday money being spent on luxury food and drink as people save money. Delta variant of Covid may delay easing of restrictions which could lead to more online grocery shopping.

When another overseas contract comes our way this share will zoom up.

Thanks for your correction. Yes I have overstated the robot numbers. I posted in a rush. Still the point stands that Ocado have more robot orders currently than Autostore.

The profits are flowing from Ocado retail. Marks and Spencers just banked over £70mill profit for the year from their investment in buying half of Ocado retail UK. The purchase of 2 robotics firms late last year will heavily reduce Ocado's need for human packing of customer orders.

Nice rise, we are now getting close to the levels that the big 2 Ocado shareholders recently bought in at. They saw low £19's as a very attractive buying opportunity...

Autostore have more clients but they have sold less technology. Ocado have huge concentrations of tech within a small field of clients

"AutoStore has 600 installations around the world, notes SoftBank, and 20,000 robots operating in 35 countries"

The Erith CFC has 3,500 robots. It's a huge CFC though so let's say on average there are 2,500 robots per Ocado fulfilled CFC

Ocado have 7 UK CFCs either in operation or shortly opening, 2 are mini CFCs. So in total that's around 5 X 2,500 - 12,500 bots plus 750 each for the mini cfcs, so 14,000 UK robots

That's just the UK. Kroger are building 11 CFCs currently, so that's 20,000 robots, probably more.

2 CFCs in Canada 1 in use, another in build - 4,000 robots

Etc etc

When all added up after French, Japanese and Australia CFCs that are in build phase or already built you can see Ocado have sold far more technology than Autostore..

Have read the document. It's a very compelling read. Of course it is purely from Ocado's point of view but it clearly shows they have wealth of logical information to back up their claim versus Autostore.

Ocado have been resolute in completely refuting Autostores claims. This document gives a great insight into why they are taking that position.

Ocado is a far superior service to Asda. If anyone's invested in Ocado, or thinking of investing, I'd highly recommend the basic point of experiencing the companies online shopping from an insight perspective.

Certainly a possibility. Issue for Kroger would be the cost. Kroger market cap is around £19bill. Ocado's is around £14bill. Kroger shareholders are the traditional dividend focussed type.
