You are buying at an interesting juncture DenFos. The 2 biggest Ocado shareholders have recently bought £100m+ between them of Ocado shares. Has been around 1.5 years since the last overseas contract signing. New contract could come soon. Hope you can add your thoughts on the board as time goes by.

Buying at exactly the right entry point when share dealing is a very rare thing. Personally when I first bought Ocado shares they took over a year to increase above my purchase price.

Ocado is a tech share so is more risky than many other shares. It is possible Ocado could not sign any more contracts. It could lose its legal case with Autostore. There could be another warehouse fire. All these possibilities would send the share price down sharply lower. If you are worrying a lot then my advice would be to sell your shares.

Personally I am optimistic on the outlook for Ocado. Its overseas CFCs are being rolled out on schedule. Ocado retail is motoring ahead on the UK. The 2 biggest Ocado shareholders have recently bought over £100m of Ocado shares between them. Ocado's board has been recently strengthened by new appointments.

This share has been, and is now, a waiting game for newsflow. A new overseas contract and Ocado will motor ahead for example. Without news the share often drifts lower. If you want quick easy money from shares Ocado isn't a great one to choose. It can go down for long periods before it rises. Best thing to do is to research it thoroughly and see if it all adds up for you.

I expect the share price to sway with overall market in the absence of any current news related to Ocado. If it does dip further big holders will be looking to add. Upside outlook is limited. Overall tech market conditions have become calmer.

Of course anything can happen, hindsight is wonderful. However with the 2 largest Ocado shareholders buying recently and heavily at current SP levels I believe there's more solidity behind the share currently.

An unexpected dip but these moves do happen with this share fairly regularly. Unexplained rises up and down. Ocado's share price and its market capitalization is based on the markets vision of the future for Ocado many years from now. There's a very wide variance in broker price targets.

I've looked thoroughly and can't see any negative news for Ocado today. Should be a good buy price for you MrHold. If it does go lower the 2 big Ocado shareholders will most probably be looking at adding. Overall tech market conditions seem good.

I went over each of the 123 references to Ocado in the Marks & Spencers results earlier. Nothing but positive, expansionist talk regarding the Ocado retail joint venture.

Having followed and been invested in Ocado for many years a standout feature of this company is its management. Never standing still, always challenging themselves, always open to innovation. There have been some very low moments in Ocado's history, the monumental amount of external criticism the company has faced, the Andover fire etc. Lesser companies could have buckled under the pressure. However Ocado has taken these things in its stride and continually emerged stronger.

This exceptional management performance amongst other things has given me the bedrock of belief I have in the company. I only stay as a long term holder with a company I can truly believe in and trust. Ocado is one such company.

Not surprised at todays move upwards but of course it is great to see our recent buying strategies and belief in the share being validated.

Ocado share price benefitting today from latest positive figures for Ocado retail UK as below. Looks like the last chance of buying at sub £20 is about to disappear..

Good spot chilting. The fees paid to Ocado for preparing and delivering click and collect to store from the CFC will be far higher than Ocado's currently provided click and collect instore assistance service to Kroger via utilizing their Ai technology.

A new overseas contract would be give a big rise for Ocado shares. Another way for a big rise to occur could be a takeover of any of Ocado's overseas partners. Kroger, Aeon, Sobeys etc have exclusive rights to use Ocado's tech in their countries. This makes them more attractive as takeover candidates in my view, and Buffets view it is safe to say.

May even finish up today on an absolutely awful day for the overall market. Big players have pounced on that opportunity of 1913p share price.

Decent rebound from the 1913p price at 2.25pm. The rebound is against the trend of the overall market. It's exactly the sort of level Jorn Rausing and London Amsterdam Trust are keen on buying at. Wonder if they are behind the rise...

All very interesting. The Ocado share price is lower but currently I am more positive on Ocado than I have been over the last month.

The ramp up of Buffets interest is a great endorsement of Kroger. Fair to assume he is happy with Krogers online strategy which is a crucial battleground for grocers in the USA. WalMart, Amazon and Target amongst many others working overtime to achieve greater online market share.

Kroger of course own 6.36% of Ocado. So by buying Kroger shares Buffet is part investing in Ocado also..

Good qu. Shaggers may be able to explain further. As I understand it Tim Steiner in the latest RNS case is buying the maximum shares he can under the share incentive plan. He gets one free matching share for every 7 he buys. If he then holds the shares for a long time he can get some of the matching shares and any gains tax free. I think Tim participates in this every month. The scheme at Ocado is available to all workers who have been with the company past a certain amount of months. The government put a cap on the size of these schemes so only small amounts of shares can be bought monthly by workers. These schemes are available at many companies. They promote workers to take a stake in their company but the government don't want the schemes to be too big otherwise they would lose out on a lot of tax.
