Saudi oil tankers attacked. Saudi Arabia said that two oil tankers were hit by saboteurs, and oil prices immediately spiked on the news. The incidents raised concerns about geopolitical risk in the Middle East.

Saudi Arabia says drones hit pipelines. In another worrying development, Saudi Arabia said on Tuesday that drones attacked two pumping stations belonging to Saudi Aramco, forcing a temporary suspension of operations. The pipeline runs from eastern oil fields to the Red Sea. Only minor damage was reported and Aramco said the outage was precautionary, but the incident could inflame tensions even more. Iran is a suspect, though neither Saudi Arabia nor the U.S. have offered any evidence.

If Iran signifcantly disrupt Saudi supply, and they are showing the capability, we are all in deep sh*t. It won't be the Greens up in arms, it will be people wanting food on the table.

What is this schism? And how is it dangerous? Didn't he basically stand on a platform of putting national self interest first? Which has been the fundamental basis of national statecraft since always? And turn back the tude of PC bullsh*t? Which seemed to resonate with voters.

I'm ambivalent about him, but he is an interesting guy, and certainly representative of a more wide spread emerging phenomenon, where voters want their interests prioritised over those of foreigners. The trouble with representative democracy is that it has to be representative at the end of the day, and over the last few decades politicians have retreated from this into a much more left wing bubble than the general public is comfortable with.

For example, in the UK benefits have been cut by around £12bn a year, while the foreign aid budget has ballooned from almost nthing to more than £12bn a year. That shows a pretty shocking neglect of the people the politicians are meant to be looking out for.

An Taisce aren't the only ones who can launch a judicial review of DCCAE if they don't act with impartiality. That route is open to Exola too.

"The proposed Barryroe site survey will not pose a risk of adversely affecting (either directly or indirectly) the integrity any European site, either alone or in combination with other plans or projects, and there is no reasonable scientific doubt in relation to this conclusion."

DCCAE have responded:
"As it cannot be excluded on the basis of objective scientific information that the project, individually or in combination with other plans or projects, will have a significant effect on a European Site."

I guess Exola will want to know what DCCAE's 'objective scientific information' is, and debate the parameters of 'significant'. But to suggest that an impact assessment had not been submitted as pretty astonishing. Especially as its been up n the DCCAE website since the end of Feb. I think this is a stall until after the EU elections. But if not, I will be making a submission to DCCAE questioning the impartiality and integrity of the civil servants involved. They may have gone native and become green zealots. It does happen.

EXOLA DAC submitted a combined Appropriate Assessment Screening and Natura Impact Statement along with their application:
