The chap who made a killing on Centamin was previous head Josef El Raghy. I cant understand the logic of resisting the Endeavour approach . Rebuffing and not giving access to books was irresponsible. They wanted to buy out around £1.40
Could it be that there is a huge fraud in what they are telling us? and Gold Reserves are not really worth much.. If all was true the shares should have moved north of £1.20 but have fallen
There are positive signs on CEY but headwinds too:- Gold prices have fallen by about $200, increased costs in waste stripping and $ has risen against the £. Just the $ rise means share price needed to recede by around 7/8%.
The only trick in the book is if they have found other large deposits in Egypt or west Africa
Failing that a bid perhaps but Egypt at the best of times is volatile and there are political uncertainties so it is wait and see.
The price is back to 5 years ago so I wonder
Oxford Biomedica is a Company which never disappoints. Ask yourself, why did they place shares at 800p with Institutions and left the current Shareholders out.
The only people who made money was Professor Kingsman who established the Company and his wife Professor Susan Kingsman. I think they sold out 20 years back at around £1 a share (IE £ 50 current value with consolidation). Good luck to them. There was so much hype at the time but nothing concrete has come through. Never know one of their drugs may become a blockbuster but evidence suggests otherwise
As an investor for over 25 years in this Company, it has never failed to disappoint. They made a placing at 800p a few months back despite having agreed Oxbox contract with Astra
Now why would a Company about to see a rise in price do that? Mind you Directors did buy at 850 to 875.
on the placing current shareholders were left out. I have low confidence in this Company and sold off 50% of the holding at £10+ . Unless a blockbuster drug comes through, I have little confidence that shares will move much except down
I wish I had sold the lot
so why were shareholders dialing in to EGM cut off from listening to vote casting?
This has been one of the most disappointing investment over a 30 year period. I sold out half my holdings at 18p IE 900 about 2 years back but silly me I bought some at approx 750 in ISA with all the hype which so far has never materialised in Share price except a few bursts
Half time results show income fell. Only way is for Vulpes Life Sciences to make an offer but will they while the shares are so depressed?
I wont be here for another 30 years. The only people who made a packet were Prof Kingsman and his wife, the original founders who sold out 20 years bach at £1 a share IE £50 with cosolidation.
The Directors consolidated as they know these shares will never rise above £10
Hi gawdhelpus, Luckily I sold half of my holdings at 18p before consolidation so thats 900p but being a sucker with all the hype I went back in and bought some at 762p. What an idiot!! and the belief in Woodford has been a disaster.
Also still in the Equitable saga. Hopefully thats coming to an end.
Overall on shares, I am in substantial deficit but Property investment has been a saviour
I have been hanging on for 30 years. Dont hold your breadth. This Company is a thorough disappointment.
I mean $ conversion to £ will be higher
I suppose collapse in Sterling so $ payment to shareholders will be higher
I hope tomorrows Results bring good news. It has been a disappointing investment over 25 years. Hardman Research gave a glorifying review on prospects but the share price hardly moved
Well well, Gannacord have a forecast of 12p for these shares. Is that optimistic? After all they were gungho on Globo shares until we lost our shirt as it was a fraudulant Board which sold out and scarpered
Over a 30 year period, one thing is for sure, OXB never fails to disappoint. some 20, 25 years back, professor Kingsman, the original founder and his wife made a packet in selling at the old price of £1 so in todays price with the consolidation, £50 with the hype on Lentivector technology and since then the drift downwards with placings, Rights issues etc but it is best to sit tight now.
They seem to have a pipeline but I wonder how much will come in as Royaltiesas others like Novartis may take the cream
Management are always very quiet
so so glad, having held these shares for some 30 years and constant let down I sold at 18p (900) after consolidation and thought I would dip my toe again and bought some at 756. will I have to wait 30 years again to make a profit? At least I wont be around!! I hope that Parkinsons treatment is a success so the shares can get to £10
No comments from the Directors on the fall in sp!! Thats a worry
Bound to remain at around that level as Advents brokers are mopping up the market. If you sell on the open market then you will get a net of around 198/199 after commissions
There are a dearth of Foreign Companies on LSE which are run for the benefit of Management and not Shareholders and this is one of them. Shares were worth 300p at one time and now they are penny shares. I recall one such energy company Essar which was taken private with Shareholders losing out. AIM is not regulated properly and one needs to be very cautious investing in AIM
so what happened today? Why such a fall?
well done. All the best for the future. Not much on the market for short term gains. I am jittery with the market fundamentals. It seems overpriced. Will only buy on major falls. Vodafone I am keeping. Its returned bucketfuls in the past. Look at Aberdeen/Standard Life as on sale of European businesses they promise to return capital to current shareholders (we hope). Apart from that Woodford Patient Capital as it is oversold. Some of the Companies should head for IPO,s within say 5 years. Just needs one success to power off
Agreed. This has been a good investment for me 6% consistent dividend over many years and the best one was the divestment of Verizon. Most of my investment is back and now pure gain. The shares may be worth 2.50 as it turns any small time disappointment into a massive positive unlike BT. I am in for the long haul and as Buffet said once you invest in a good company dont dives, keep buying on the dip and accumulate
