2024 is hardly years away, they'll already be integrating DMS for models in anticipation of that deadline.
Benefits, how about an in car assistant that can tell who is speaking to it based on eye gaze. Or an augmented reality display that shows directions overlaid on the road or an assistant that can grab reviews or a reservation for that restaurant your looking at.
Having IR sensors allows the doorbell to accurately determine it's a valid user. Glints and movement of the eyes plus pulmonary data can all be sensed to ensure it's a valid user at the door. Harder to spoof etc.
Indeed, Cenkos mentioned it in their January note.
"The OmniVision product announcement notes an expectation for a power requirement of less than 1 Watt which is outstanding for a high performance graphics processing system that performs up to 1.1 trillion operations per second. This implies the chip will be low cost and very easy to integrate into all vehicle areas, including the rear-view mirror, but also other products such as smart doorbells, kiosks and human facing robots."
We know results are going to be good, but would be great to get some future guidance. A few extra RNS in before results wouldn't go amis either, especially with $900m RFQ's to bid for.
