Yep, it'd be wise for them to hold off further expansion until they're generating sufficient cash from phase 1.

Doing things this way, helps reduce the likely hood of further dilutive raises.

Since when was fleet a failure? It's currently close to 6 billion km of data, informed SEE R&D and installs are steadily growing. To the point that it won't be long before it's profitable in it's own right!

It'll be in trucks way in advance of it being mandated. Doubt companies are going to wait til the last minute to install it, especially with insurance tie ups making it cheaper.

RAAF wanted the tech, CAE will provide. But the eye tracking solution has potential across their entire simulator market, not to mention any aircraft they produce.

It'll also be proven across an entire industry, no need to spend time and resources testing a competitors 'unproven tech'!

If they have a deal for x number of years use with us at a discounted rate. Not only do we have consistent upfront and recurring revenue, but we lock others out of the market.

Why go to a competitor when you're locked into a deal for x number of years, especially if the product is cheaper and more performant than your competitors...

If they do choose to feature our tech across their sim range, a licence is the way to go imo.

I can't see them paying full price for each install when they could haggle a bulk order discount via a licence deal.

This is just my opinion of course...

Look at the bigger picture, 3 first time sales with scope for more.

Like any new tech, CAE will do likely start with small orders and once they know how to best install / deal with the tech. They ramp up over time or better yet, licence said tech and get a cheeky discount in the process... After all L3 is a 'Non Exclusive' deal...

SEE aren't going to pigeon hole themselves like Tata all over again...

They use an RGB camera, which means it won't work in the dark. Very basic...
