At 30% GM (historic) there needs to be $700m worth of recoverable gold for them to pay another $53m for the last 25%. At 60% (GP $2000) their need only to be $350M worth of recoverable gold. It was a bad decision at $1200 when it was first made, but might be worth it at current prices.

I should also add that my EPS and PAT thoughts for 2020 are underlying numbers. I expect/hope there will be an exceptional restructuring provision to make this company operationally efficient.

$ 1200, unfortunately we have "light-fingers" still hanging around like a bad smell. Very soon he will be irrelevant to the companies future as he has a different set of adventures before him. I don't think the share price will bat an eyelid by the time KPMG report.

Lets hope they release after the 6th of April. It give time to get affairs in order. Also detailed budgeting is really a good thing, for cost control. Maybe the first time for POG ?

Krss, my $130m PAT for 2020 includes a reversal of the options impairment. 2021 might be around $230m if they can execute properly and gold holds at current level.

I think the GBP to USD had peaked. The UK is spending but, trade is down and unemployment is up and rising and inflation is coming. So they will have to QE at some point. A 10% drop in GBP will add to POG results.

Turkey doesn’t have the money to back its currency with Gold. It is devaluing its currency. And Venezuela just doesn’t have any money full stop. Both countries are selling any Gold they have to pay for things. Turkey has even tried to attract private gold into the control of government with all sorts of schemes/laws so that they can sell it.
