POG shares are valued correctly at the moment based on the information at hand. Polymetal is at a 8.4 PE, POG is currently roughly the same based on what I predict there 2020 earnings per share to be.
The BOD could try and talk that up, but I don’t think they would be successful. The lower PE is sector related really. POG needs operational improvements.

Landing Denis Alexandrov was pretty big.

1. They have stated the position of the shareholder specifically in their statements as a priority. Last year interim statement!
2. They have organised the conversion of 70% of the convertibles as a gesture of goodwill to the shareholders
3. They have not even suggested diluting shareholders
4. They have expressed the need for a dividend i.e a return
5. They got rid of Pavel

Until this companies Volume goes up and costs come down, it is worth 29p on YE 2020 numbers based on a PE of 10. Lets hope its warm in Blagoveshchensk

I know its theoretical accounting, but the reversal of the impairment implies that the company’s value has gone up by $100m ish. Which is reflective in the share price. POG's share should soon be worth $100m, maybe by Q3 ?

Rusty you are correct, as long as the cash comes in and they pay down the debt. $40m+- per quarter is what they should be generating at current prices. In Q4 it was $15m+$25m investment in WC. If prices stay where they are for another 90 days, they should be able to easily refinance at a lower rate without a guarantee if they so choose.

If the USD strengthens due to interest rates and Turkey doesn’t raise rates by a 4X factor, money flows out of the country/TRY and gold also falls. So local interest rates are at play here.

unfortunately, I also have a lira position, which I am getting out of at a loss. Just 15 years ago it had parity with the dollar and is now 8.3 to one. Which is an average of 50% devaluation each year.

Turkey is constrained by dollar denominated borrowing in their corporate and banking sectors. Its not really a smart move if your banks go pop. The general population have learned over many years to own gold or USD, even if you can earn 20% p.a. on monthly deposit.

Ok Powell:
1. Gold is not a speculative asset it is a safety asset used for protection.
2. Gold is not highly volatile (It can move in times of uncertainty but is mostly pretty stable).
3. Store of value. I don’t think I need to say anything about this.
4. Clearly Gold is a substitue for the USD and other currencies based on correlation.

It’s can’t be illegal to allegedly destroy company property if you are doing it on behalf of the company.
