Two tests, the Elisa lab is as good as any other, accuracy, sensitivity are fine and we ideally are awaiting public health England validation. So anytime, submitted 10 days ago by mologic and awaiting Phe update.

Any publicity that talks antibodies is positive, getting people used to and thinking about these test. Doctors, hospitals will use Elisa test of any facility with professional health practitioners, poc anyone will buy and use at home.

The Elisa is ready now through Odx, expect an announcement anytime, phe will let everyone know first, then mologic then Odx. They won’t wait two weeks, anytime now,

What’s positive is that it’s taking antibodies, more on this the better, phe don’t do early or out of hours, ideal would be an announcement on Elisa test with mologic anytime after 9, followed by government minister. I hope they don’t pick Roche just for the name, my suspicion is they want more uk based hence the consortium looking at POC is exactly that. This will come good, ministers are promoting bbi, Scottish ministers know about Odx

I thought the update from BBI was pretty good. Their working on a solution which we know, timescale is end of the month, one million tests of which Odx can do 400 k. I thought really good insight

Abbot have a lab based test like Elisa that isn’t used in homes nor in the uk, they are of course offering the kit cheap to get it going. I think Elisa will get the uk lab market and hopefully the POC from consortium the uk and further afield market

We know an rns on the Elisa test validation with phe, if this happens then hospitals and doctor surgeries will start administering to patients

On bbc the doctor interviewed says they would love to test people for the virus and antibodies, they want to start understanding who has had what.

Flying in planes, going back to work, social distancing all need data to help understand how many, how close we even are to herd immunity.

Overtime for vulnerable, they need to also know if they have had it, they need to know about the people around them, people want to know for their own well-being and whether and how they need to change their behaviours.

A POC developed test to a high standard will sell out around the world for years, this virus isn’t going to go away, as seasons change in different countries, it will mix with the flu, people come into hospitals the nhs will want to know how many have had the virus, a huge data base on the uk population.

So a worry about mologic making a test. This is good news for people around the world, better than nothing and we need to help everyone.

Imagine a test, carried out at home with blood prick. Realise at the moment home kits for corona are swab based and therefore if done by oneself pretty unreliable

Based on when mologic announced I think odx might be aiding them with manufacturing design, concept now. Might find out Monday, at the minute mologic don't have a plant

Yep I think you might be right, cross fertilisation of ideas and progress between odx, mologic and the RTC group. All overall positive

Note their lab increase this last week in order to pack more. Similar to retail flour in supermarkets the bottleneck is packing small bags not a lack of flour.

Likewise Odx will be able to make the tests but lack packing capability for retail sales hence the improvement, there just getting ready,everyone will buy at least 2 for each house just to try and see whether they have had it. Amazon will then sell across countries it’s pretty straight forward

Mologic might now work with Odx to create the actual physical test now, Odx have vast experience in this area and they may share knowledge or equipment to help them create the actual test? There was suggest the consortium is going to use the cd4 design maybe mologic too?

Then Odx will wait, support and input to the consortium group, design freeze, use cd4 and create test to sell. Then roll out sell all over the place including every pharmacy, supermarket in the land. People will buy and test now, if we get a second wave which is very likely in the autumn they will use millions of them
