The hold up is they have to make it. They where the first to announce with odx a poc, saliva based test. They have been developing for sometime now, however in the normal world of diagnostics just a fraction of what is normally needed. It does seem the MHRA is taken a while, I guess when you issue a test to millions they could get it wrong, at the same time the % error currently with people not using them correctly up their throat and nose due to discomfort is high. I doubt the poc test will not be as good in regards being used. So sometime soon, big positive bring poc antigen through Mologic will follow far quicker and combined great position

The reason the government hasn’t placed an order is the test is not validated for personal use. It’s now been sold for professional administrative use but not by ourselves.

Getting this approval I guess is very hard as whilst it may seem straight forward if you hand out millions of tests to any public person let’s be honest there is a high chance they get it wrong and it’s not as simple as a pregnancy test.

So testing, meetings, validations take a long time to decide and validate that the loss in accuracy due to personal in capability is matched of by distribution and the test results benefits. There’s a high positive negative on current tests which are administered but this could be worse

Interesting the connection between Mologic and odx on the antigen test as they highlighted the connection to current hiv tests using similar methods which I assume odx have knowledge of from their work with burnet institute and themselves, let’s see where this one takes us. If the mologic saliva based test is good enough everyone will want to use them, it’s easy, quick and simple wherever the location

It all comes down to validation and accuracy. Everyone is questioning orders, sales etc. You can't sell point of care, lateral flow tests unless they are validated and approved to be sold as exactly that. You can't sell direct to people, the public unless certified so we aren't selling this type of test until this type of test is approved for being exactly what it is.

No validation, no test, no sales to the extent we believe. I think they will get validated, but bear in mind how many other mass, blood, saliva tests have ever been made, validation and shipped out to the whole population? I would suspect none so when everyone gets worked up, wonders why things aren't happening I suspect a step back to reflect on what they are actually trying to do.

Looking at it from the opposite side, there is no way the government can afford a false test, a ****ed tes, something that is launched but doesn't then work. It's obvious but key and straight forward when you think of the consequence if not successful on both people and government.

This needs to be right and work, when validated I have no doubt the two test, poc, antigen and antibody will sell significantly for as long as needed. Gla
