They’ll be offering both soon, Mologic aren’t daft and whilst quiet I think some are under estimating their capabilities. Both odx and Mologic are very good, capable businesses and it’s been rumoured before about takeover, I think if ever and there is no suggestion of it odx are now becoming an attractive business overall in what they are capable of.

Iron ore prices hit six-and-a-half year highs on Thursday as the Chinese construction and manufacturing sector experiences levels of activity last seen almost a decade ago.

According to Fastmarkets MB, benchmark 62% Fe fines imported into Northern China were changing hands for $129.92 a tonne on Tuesday, up 2.1% on the day.

That was the highest level for the steelmaking raw material since mid-January 2014 and brings gains for 2020 to over 40%.

A key gauge of economic activity in China – responsible for more than half the world’s steel output and 70% of seaborne iron ore imports – released this week showed rapid expansion of the country’s manufacturing and construction sector in August.

The Caixin manufacturing PMI index rose from 52.8 in July to 53.1 in August, well above analysts’ expectations, which were headed for a decline during what is usually a slow month for industrial production.

A reading above 50 indicates expansion, and August’s numbers were the highest since January 2011.

While the official PMIs released by the Chinese government showed a slight drop in activity, the Caixin index is usually seen as a more reliable gauge as the survey covers a greater number of private and smaller companies than Beijing’s measure, skewed towards state-owned enterprises.

Rest of the world catching up
Capital Economics notes that the export orders component of the manufacturing PMI rose above 50 for the first time this year on the back of recovering foreign demand.

The London-based research company says this suggests that foreign demand is now beginning to catch up to Chinese domestic demand and hints at a further acceleration in export growth in the coming months.

While China’s factories are humming, spending on infrastructure has rocketed.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, authorities have issued 4.75 trillion yuan ($683 billion) in local and national debt with most of that earmarked for infrastructure projects, lifting construction PMI’s above 60.

Yep you are correct, some of the government points seem to be moving out based on what we first got told, would suggest this isn’t unusual and if the tests aren’t actually physically ready anyway the delay is more about us being told than actual sales.
In regards future, the biggest call is actually still how long do you think Covid will last, what ways will be used in order to manage it and what is the personal and economic fallout??

If you still believe it’s not positive then odx tests will succeed, indeed look how many are this field because of proposed demand and opportunities, Covid or not?

We at the stage now where investors need to justify why there is no rns? Think slightly perverse now in saying this. These are not instrument tests bar I think the one in Hampshire. The other two are saliva based which will be antigen

Southampton
Phase 2 of the no-swab saliva test pilot in Southampton will also start this week. The second phase of the pilot will trial the weekly testing model in educational settings, with participation from staff and students at the University of Southampton and 4 Southampton schools. Over 2,100 pupils and staff across 4 schools will be invited to have a test as part of the pilot, which is led by a partnership of the University of Southampton, Southampton City Council and the NHS.

So Salford and Southampton are our tests or by someone else doing something very similar, non instrument I believe. It’s implied below ;

A new, community-wide trial in Salford will launch imminently to assess the benefits of repeat population testing. Existing, promising trials in Southampton and Hampshire, using a saliva test and a rapid 20-minute test, will also be expanded using the new funding.

By using this cutting-edge technology to widely roll out rapid tests, chains of transmission will be broken almost immediately by delivering on-the-spot results. Successful trials will then be expanded and rolled out more widely.

The 20 min is instrument based, the saliva is poc based. These tests are very similar to visitect hiv, more than possible, similar vein. I have every confidence and again the last paragraph outlines the ability to break the chain which breaks the economic decline. Gla

Individuals will have to take responsibility for uploading their result from a poc test. Bear in mind at the moment some rather take no test than have a lab one that ties them in and proves their positive. Some people are hiding their symptoms as they can’t afford to have a test and take time off work.

Then there’s the current false positives which are high, current tests not easy, hard to apply

So if people have poc they will firstly use them, at home, out of way, in their own home. They get a result, some will upload, some won’t but they will have a result which in most cases will influence their behaviour.

At the moment people choose not to have the harder test as not knowing means ok. A poc done at home has little excuses, anyone can do them. Also many times, cheap and easy

To note, the Nasdaq tumbled today on economic fear and Covid affects on global markets. For those that said it’s over, far from it, remember some had vaccines coming out by now and not hear anything.

The global economy is being destroyed by delay after delay in everything we do every day not happened making people do less work, not keep everything rolling. A poc tests at the exact point needed to give a yes or no is the only way to stop delays and get it all going.

Some countries now asking for a test result no more than 72 hrs prior arrival but you can’t get one without symptoms so people are lying?

False negative results are still huge

The point of care tests will in the end be the only ones left standing that can manage, complete volume, cost effective, public orientated, practical in pretty much every scenario and actual keep the economy going and saving the government billions. Once the tests are validated, proved to be good enough they will trump everything. They are the best solution, quickest and easiest. Once fully approved they will sell easily

I don’t think the poc antigen are too hard, they stated similar to hiv visitect tests in that they use saliva, I think the Change might be doing poc test first instead of lab based as this is now the obvious route to success. The antigen will get done, note the antibody coming under visitect brand, the antigen will probably do the same and all get sold globally. This is very positive, we then know they are working on others to expand portfolio.

Is this the test in June Mologic announced they would do themselves, built a plant for? Mologic have announced one antibody test, was independent to odx but we then signed a deal and now this is being done by odx. I think this adds to the others? 2 x poc tests antigen and antibody, 2x Elisa antibody and antigen plus rtc antibody. Five tests.

Approvals before sales but I think capacity is already signed up if approvals are given hence not announced, I also think volumes will be higher then previously announced as odx will naturally under play

I think as merchant has mentioned two antibody tests. The first Mologic created ages ago, published and started working on with others then the deal between Mologic and odx was signed also focusing on antigen lab and poc as well as lab antibody this giving odx the full remit.

So we await the advancement of antigen poc and lab plus the same for antibody, all at different stages. They’ll be developing and delivered, they’ll be the best, most practical in industry and for the public. Gla

They’ve obviously now tied up with an RTC group member to make saliva based poc antigen tests. In the end you need both, not lab based but practical, easy to use, in people’s hands based. The market is obviously huge, we all thought Mologic were behind and then popped up Heathrow trial. I think odx are advanced as they can be, working through all tests and talking to sales.

China states more or less on standard footing so will they order food intolerance tests soon?

Says I all. Mass testing, huge numbers needed, globally, saliva based test and as yet to transfer and develop. Working away from lab to poc, quick, cheap and keeps the world turning. Everything odx are doing with Mologic that started weeks and weeks ago. This rns confirms the route, types of tests they are all now heading towards which is exactly what odx are doing. Mologic poc, saliva was last on the list, the Heathrow comment implies it’s moved further up. As Colin the ceo said, covering all bases bar the mass volume, lab based tests that Roche etc do. Spot on for me, done this as quick as they can, several year deal, tied up in a few weeks after Covid had started, shoes foresight, vision and right steps by Colin.

They’ll prioritise but flood the market with antigen and antibody poc tests if both accuracies enough, we need both, we need them with people to do themselves at an array of different situations non stop.

We had reports of the first cases of getting corona a second time, if this is the case how long does immunity last at which point you switch back up antigen tests to carry on. These simple, accurate, cheap tests aren’t going away
