All very good Prof, but here’s the BUT......that is right out of the how to run a long find book chapter ONE. what you haven’t mentioned is the fact SIG sold their module business for £1 - and the market has shifted massively to modular especially the new house build market. Barratt bought Oregon Timber recently to speed up delivery of units....how could Me Francis have not spent some cash on modular. Look at Berkeley’s investment in their Northfleet site...upwards of £40m spent. I still think the know your customer strategy is wrong and they should be acquiring companies with fast delivery technology after all the large housebuilders have colloidal land banks wanting to be built - if the lending to house buyers still exists in three months.......I am still not convinced for Thursday results.....I also see Prof is tempering his price guidance .......interesting...!

It’s Thursday I’d be worried about, fundamentally this share is just not moving forward in spite of all the noise on this board saying otherwise. SIG has been knee capped just before an announcement was due.......events dear boy events....!

Agreed - in these times of volatility- a small payment like that is meaningless. However, no matter what brass neck he may have, announcing underwhelming news on Thursday will undermine his credibility and as a CEO that is usually fatal......in the longer term. His argument will no doubt be he is feeling some pain in his holdings - not really as they were a gift in truth or a payment for ‘services YET to be rendered....!’......

Premature bonus payment for coming onboard.....no other reasons needed.....He also was placed by private equity to sort PV and even they could fix that mess / fraud.....

CD &R have the firepower to take this company - the only issue or fly in the ointment is IKO. They will be seeing a poor return on their holding at present as they have been involved for a long time. The PE guys are always looking under stones to pick off the badly run companies - SIG being a prime example. They could take this private and in effect bail out IKO and anybody who thinks those conversations have not already taken place are watching the wrong cup- so to speak. CD&R have their place man in Francis - he will deliver the CD&R strategy regardless of market conditions or sentiment. I witnessed an in essence busted plc manufacturer Scotland - Superglass plc be picked off by a Russian based PE group - Inflexion Management. They bought at 8p a business whose plant alone would have cost £50m to build and an 11 acre site on which it sat on. The share were 4.6p when they bid and won the business. They key to the deal going through at a ridiculous low enterprise value of £11m was they had their place man as CEO - Ken Munro who would have done anything to join the fast growing Russian backed Cyprus based Inflexion Management. So I repeat the PE guys will get their pound of flesh here.....easy.

Here are back at the station called CD&R......anybody want to give away more of the company to the PE party.......22p by the close. No announcement on Thursday will rectify this tanker......!

We shouldn’t rule out CD &R taking another lump out of SIG for damn all......They will be sitting on their cash until They see how performance is going......they will have to notify of any further equity buys in an RNS.

and therefore not invested firmly in the business and by that I mean he has not spent ten years dragging the business up the growth curb and also built up very lucrative LTIP in the business that really brings the rewards - so I do not rule out a bid for the business at some point - and maybe very soon....?????

Jings - a 9% drop and everybody hates each other. I have said all along this will Be bid for by either private equity or a peer. It is so cheap and looks like Francis would sell his granny, kids and left kidney if he could score a profit out of his holdings......at present......Remember he got the cash and then shares for damn all - so what he never had he never lost.....

Here’s the big fall - that’s going to hurt a few folk here who bought in the so called dips.....! Steve Francis will be out if he doesn’t catch this fall. Another raise and payoff for his efforts.......I want o hear his explanation on this price.......P45 looms for the Francis.....! After all I could have let the barbarians at the gate in - CD&R too for a six figure bribe......!

So obvious on the MMs part - trying to pick up chunks of stock at cheap levels.....roll on the 24th for the correction up........cannot wait!

Professor, I am not sure your adding much value here to the board. It looks as though you have seen the drop, bought in, sentiment around the raising also supporting your position too. However, I am not sure an approach of just wait for the rise is compelling. That appears to be what every long fund allows for - the smarter ‘hedgy money’ gets their head around the short term. I think this could be bid for as the PE guys in CD & R will see that a quick flip of the cash and allow other larger holders to enjoy the ride up to the next tier (providing another PE buys in as CD&R has done)........I think we should be looking at all options for this stock- the PE guys will be.....
