Not sure there will be any consequences. Vela have made a bad deal and a bad investment in the Covid trial. My worry is that all our current investments are very long term. If we get absolutely nothing back from the SGS trial then they are going to come knocking for more money at some point. The choice is to sell out now after 18 months and very heavy loss or stay invested in the hope that in the future we might get our money back, but with possibly more dilution on the horizon. Still unsure how the SP will be affected by the consolation. Some see it as a bad thing some see it as a positive, only a few more days and we will find out.

Definitely not fake news at this is from the SGS website. Turns out that our BOD are actually worse at investing and making deals than most of us.
Like I said 2 day ago, i could accept that the trial and results where not great as nothing is without risks. It is the way its all played out. Apparently a success and immediately in discussions with a commercial partner . this is all rubbish, why would you buy something that only has a slightly better affect on people health.

Exactly. It would appear it does not take much for a trial to be deemed a success. Vela and SGS need to come out and answer this at the AGM.

There is the problem in black and white and why they cant sell AZ1656 as a covid treatment. Only slightly better health. Doubt the buyers will be clambering after this one, hence the SP.

Surely that is the point of our BOD. As investors in SGS and the trial they should be seeing the proof of success before allowing the sale of their shares.

SGS really timed their sell very well. Selling at a much higher price than today's SP. It almost like they knew there would be very little progress for months/years.

Seems SGSC deemed it a success from the RNS when they sold their Vela shares. As they are running the trial, we can only go on what they have told us.

We understand from SGSC that, following the successful results of the ARCADIA trial released last week, it has begun commercial discussions with potential licensees of AZD1656 and will be using the proceeds from the sale of its Vela shares to develop several new innovative-drug programmes.

Vela does seem to love a daily 3% or 6 % drop. Agree its very frustrating and now my worst performing share for a very long time. I only invested in the first place as I got swept away in the JN is a winner and investing god brigade.
Then the SGS trial was deemed a success, happy days, surely we will se the back of the 0.06-0.07 range we seemed to be stuck in for ever. How wrong could I be and made a massive school boy error not taking profits on the successful trial RNS. SGS and Vela are somewhat to blame though informing us a commercial deal was imminent. Another lesson learnt though, take profit when you can and remember that AIM is as corrupt as they come.

Vela has purchased 250,000 ordinary shares in MTI Wireless Edge Ltd at a price of 80 pence per share. The consideration for the purchase of £200,000 has been funded from Vela's existing cash resources. Following this purchase Vela will hold approximately 0.28 per cent. of the issued share capital of MTI.

As long as Big Billy from the city did not learn his trading skills and education at Eton with Boris and his cronies. He may have attended the lesson on how to fib to the gullible and hope to get away with it. I do hope not as I have sold the house, wife and dog ready to pile into Vela on Thursday after the Croda RNS has been released.

Come on keep up. Jimmy/Stephen has already told you. It will take till after Wednesday and before Friday. £400 million deal to be announced then because big billy from the City said so.

Looks like a good deal to be fair. Not sure it will save Brent's job, but a good solid investment with what looks like limited downside. If you are a new investor to Vela then I think you are getting in at a decent price with some ok prospects. LTHs are they only ones feeling bitter at the moment.

I think we are more than entitled to throw our dummies out the pram. As Toffeman says, SGS just happens to be our biggest investment by far, why exactly would we take it out the equation. This investment is the sole reason we have seen the SP dramatically fall from 0.14 to todays rubbish. If the trial had been a failure then so be it, the decline in SP would be expected and it would have been a gamble by the board that did not pay off. However, the trial was apparently a success and allowed SGS to flog their Vela shares, this alone is leaving a bad taste in the mouth.
Add this to the fact we have no social media presence and no director buys. This is the reason the BOD are on a sticky wicket. I would like to hope everyone involved in any AIM share realises how risky they are. The way this has played out does seem extremely dodgy though.

The silence is embarrassing and long gone are the JN love brigade. He must have got lucky at AAA or been carried but others.

The problem here is unless the next news is mind blowing, any rise will be massively sold into. I originally was hoping we could get back to 0.07 so I could sell out. Now I think 0.05 and I will gladly take a loss. I am sure there are many LTH in the same boat.

-6% down, just for a change. Vela is nothing but predictable.

With over 2 million in the bank, why would there be a placing?
