AIM market has no rhyme nor reason. 28m sold 36m purchased. In a normal market this would have the mms bidding up to balance their books. Not AIM, They keep the price low to scare holders into parting with their stock cheaply.. When I was a dealer in 1900 and frozen to death, you could stand by the pitch and watch the jobbers marking the changes up with their chalks. I was often sent into the market to ask why a share had risen? What was behind it? The answer was always the same "More buyers than sellers"

UKOG has cost me £50k I was sitting on a really good profit before the SCC stepped in and stymied any hopes. Then Turkey and now Hydrogen Storage. My natural optimism kept me on board and I topped up with every SP fall. A post on this board keeps ringing in my ears! When they were 11p (before consolidation) somebody posted " There is no way that this company is worth £214m ? I'm out, " How right he was. How foolish I was but the pound signs were swivelling in my eyeballs. Then I gave up and started selling to cut my losses. I am comforted by the fact that every sale, turned out to be a good decision.

I have no problem with a large placing and a dilution when it means acquiring another asset. It's when a placing is done just to cover costs of maintaining existing assets, that's when I start to worry. (UKOG)

10 years on and we haven't even begun the feasibility study yet? I despair of this ever making a return. Luckily I sold my EMH holding years ago but still have an interest via KDNC. KDNC management have made some awful investment decisions over the years, none of which have born fruit. It's all down to Apapa.!

I will never understand AIM mms.? When I was a dealer in the LSE in the 70's. 10m purchases against 250k sales would have had the price rocketing ? On AIM clearly that doesn't suit their books.

When the SP was 0.19 following the Turkey announcement. SS was overheard saying that he wished he could short the stock but he is not allowed. That should have set warning bells off but my inbuilt optimism still thought that this company could make me a millionaire. I was holding 17m shares? Not any more! No longer a holder.

At one stage I held 17.5 m of this dead beat of a stock. Could have sold at 11p when Gatwick could still have been a gusher. Could have sold on the revival after Turkey was announced. Have finally sold with a 95% loss. My only saving grace was that I would dump a few million to pay for a new interest. Always wondered if I had done the right thing. I always had, because every sale looked good a week later. Nobody to blame except but myself but I do think they didn't drill deep enough in Turkey. Another 1500 metres could have changed the story. I dabbled in Bens Creek at about the 30pmark. Having seen them come down from m over £1 I felt confident of a good return. When they started to fall I thought "Here we go again" and took a small loss. Wish i had done the same with UKOG . That has been my personal disaster. The value is too small to worry about it so they will either recover, or go bust! Annoyingly, I have been in for a long time and saw them reach 11p (touched 14P during the day). My greed took over and the rest is history. Its the "I couldn't possibly sell at these levels" mentality which really kills you. I run four portfolios. three for the grandchildren and one for me. For the grandchildren I have been sensible and avoided the get rich quick syndrome and only invested in established unit trusts such as Fundsmith Equity. The kids portfolios have doubled while I'm down 60% So I'm gradually removing myself from AIM stocks and investing in professional managers such as Jupiter. Not so much fun but more sensible.

I thought we were looking for gold? Gold finds represent instant success. Any base metals represents production plant building. fundraising and feasibility studies. I bought into the company because it was going to be a second Greatland? I swear I saw Richard Poulden on Australian Gold hunters with a metal detector and pickaxe?
