My theory is that a licence/strategic deal with an equity kicker is imminent. IMM is emphasising P140 and “future strategic partnerships and commercial deals” in the appointment wording. A credible NED with healthcare investment networks can help catalyse or validate a partnering process that may include an equity component from a strategic or its funders.
Tim also ruled out "no placing/fund raising" inclines more towards a strategic transaction, rather than a raise.
“Licence / Strategic Deal with an Equity Kicker” refers to when a biotech company (like ImmuPharma) enters into a commercial agreement with a larger company — usually a pharma, biotech, or regional distributor — involving one of its drug candidates or technologies.
That deal might include:
Upfront payment (cash to IMM immediately)
Milestone payments (on development, regulatory, or sales targets)
Royalties (a share of future sales revenue)
R&D collaboration (shared funding or expertise)
Essentially, it’s a monetisation deal — a way to turn IMM’s intellectual property into funding and commercial traction without raising money directly from the market.
If you look the RNS, there are two independent statements from Tim. It seconds my theory that Ketan's primary focus will be to provide expert guidance to IMM in the negotiations with the strategic partner. And then also, bring on more II (which can ofcourse be via placing but not necessarily at a discount as we have seen many times for many companies e.g. Fiinu).
1. Importantly, Ketan's appointment, at this time, brings a unique perspective to the Board, as we concentrate on future strategic partnerships and commercial deals across our product portfolio and in particular, our lead auto-immune platform technology, P140.
2. In addition, Ketan's investment management experience will greatly assist us in expanding our institutional shareholder base."
Thanks to the recent share price hike, IMM has got enough funds from the Lanstead deal to take then through the deal.......
