so its actually fully validated then, if NHS is supplying it. If its good enough for NHS to select it, why would anyone really care. Do you actually expect joe public to do detailed research as to the bona fides or accuracy of a range of tests, then shortlist based on price, or isn't it more reasonable to expect a behaviour of "whats the cheapest way I can go on holiday" People want to spend time picking their destination and hotel etc, an LFT will be selected based on which is the handiest/cheapest that ticks the box.

With uk gov flagging that at the moment they'll pretty much allow any lft test to be used, don't be getting carried away with fanciful ideas of tests retailing at £20-£30 a test.

So who will be next @£8, £7.50 ? Take out delivery, retail and distributor mark-up and these are becoming commodity items. That £4 a go that Innova are charging uk gov is good money in comparison. And once at those prices, there is no way people will be willing to pay £20 for an lft, regardless of how well its validated. If you are heading on holiday, it'll be a tick box exercise, are you going to pay £120 for 4 lfts for the family when you can tick the box for £36 ?

Apparently the savvy have figured all you really need is QR code, and with people starting to get fed up, and no checking that you actually bought / took a test, expect many to do the bare minimum.

Is this the "Outcome of the evaluation of rapid diagnostic assays" page (i.e. the phase3a page) that we are aware of, or is it a different list. That page doesn't exactly seem designed to be consumer friendly, the title of the page itself doesn't scream "these are the tests we are happy for you to buy".

That's just to stop people using NHS freebie tests for travel purposes. If you buy the test,by definition it is not free.
