The fact is the EU document says it was rejected, anything else is baseless conjecture.

Unfortunately ODX tweeted the following day that "AS announced on june 7th, we were delighted to provide DHSC with cassetting..." (can be confirmed by looking at ODX twitter account for a 23rd Sept tweet).

When queried about the past tense by someone on here, Walbrook apparently responded to confirm that the use of the past tense was correct and that that contract was finished. I can't recall who mentioned it, but if you doubt it, you can easily confirm it yourself by contacting walbrook.

Point to the article ?

1) Surescreen rejected for inclusion on the EU "appropriate for use" list means Surescreen is not a competitor for use by EU governments, which surely is good for a visitect test, whether profession or home use.

2) Surescreen did not not withdraw. Tricky making things up that had zero basis in fact,. A test appears on the rejected list if:-

3) Mologic/GAD not being mentioned on either the accepted or rejected list i.e. not applying to be included, when they got CE approval for professional use in December 2020, is noteworthy information, whether you like it or not.

3) I mentioned that the list was to be updated in Sept (if you bothered to read the links you would have seen that yourself), so I expect the updated listed will be published shortly.

Lets stick with facts, not some fanciful speculation

Some posters said yes, some said no. No point in listening to any posters unless they can point to a source of the information.

Some also indicated that Walbrook said no. Given they should be placed to know, and are easily contactable, I suggest you ask them.

Interesting is that even though Mologic got CE approval in December 2020, they never applied to get on EU acceptable use list in all that time, as it's neither on the acceptable use list, nor the rejected list.

Conjecture as to why that might be ?

Contains a short list of tests that have been removed from the list, and a longer list of tests that have been "rejected for inclusion". The Surescreen test is listed as having been rejected (middle of the last page).

These listed were due to be updated in Sept, so perhaps they've been updated but not yet posted.

Actually the government said it was allowing unvalidated tests " to address any potential shortage of supply". Note the use of the word potential.

I see https://www.simplytestme.co.uk/ have decided in the last couple of days that "<£9" can't be done, now saying the test will be £10.

Nothing from ODX as to whether they are heading into the uk market at this time to take advantage of the government stated shortage of supply. With ordering available from this friday, they'd need to have a deal with a distributor/resellers lined up, as those looking to make money from this will have their test source secured.

What you haven’t addressed is why a family of 4 would pay £78 for tests instead of £36.

The retail price has to be competitive in the marketplace you are trying to address.

Absolutely, but when you are competing with full validated test at £9, and who knows what other tests will come in cheaper, you can margin away to your hearts content, but you won't sell a test for £15, or £12, if someone is selling them for £9.

The salient point being, all the chat of the last year from many here that said they weren't that worried about the gov contract because the private sector is were the big bucks was, citing ODX making many times per test what they would get from HMG, might be wishing for that single multi-million non-competing customer of HMG afterall, compared to a open unvalidated marketplace where the test is competing within a £9 delivered retail sector, and where the end customer can simply pick the cheapest valid product.

I'm see on loads of holiday specific forums and a lot of general discussion forums, people have worked out that you can use a previously generated code, so for example when you go to fill in the form there is a entry for the code, which your browser will pre-populate with anything you previously entered. These things arent' checked. No one confirms you actually took a test, or even bought one.

People being as people are, and given theres unfortunately a significant % of the population that are either fatigued with all things covid, or think the rules dont apply to them, using lft for travel and allowing the private sector to do it with no follow-up is a massive step down from PCR in terms of covid testing.

Its a fact, that a week before thry are even allowed, you can buy a fully validated PD phase3a test for £9. for several days people have been going giddy over retailing vistect @ £20-£30.

That flowflex seller is just the first out the door, expect the price to go lower. in fact provided that the underlying seller is approved, I wouldn't be suprised to see holiday LFTs on eBay. It'll be a chinese rush. And people will be more than happy to buy the bare bones cheapest thing that lets them go on holiday.

Surely odx will be shipping those stockpiled visitect tests out the door all next week. Even CK must be able to sell a test into a non-validated marketplace, given the reason for it being allowed to be non-validated is because there is an apparent shortage. I'm assuming there has to be some regulation on them, otherwise I'll start knocking them out in my garage. ce approval not needed ?

The question that should be being asked of course, is why uk gov didn't select a test months ago and have ODX and Mologic ready with 60-80M fully validated uk made tests, rather than using a lack of tests (of their own making) as a reason for having to resort to a laise faire approach. As the visitect test is not a uk gov soverign test, ODX can not use the gov loan equipment for their own commerical sales...right ?
