How the hell would anyone know that at this stage ? With only around 100 cases world wide, likely the manufacturers of all the 100s of LFT tests out there are asking the same thing.

It's the reason why UK gov immediately stopped using LFTs for travel, they have no idea whether Orient Gene/ Flowflex/Surescreen etc pick it up. They know PCR testing does.

PD will at some stage get round to testing the LFTs, and they will concentrate on the ones the HMG have a large stockpile off, or have large commitments to purchase.

The contract is expired, it can not be unexpired. Any potential new contract with HMG will be via a completely new contract. The £50-£374M contract is historic.

And if ODX saying its expired isn't enough to tell you their expectations, then surely them saying in the RNS:-
"Given the outlook on COVID manufacture for the UK Government is uncertain, it is prudent for us to re-size this aspect of our LFT manufacturing capacity to meet current and future demand. "

Decoded means that the what they see ahead ('outlook') tells them they have too much capacity. They do not have any visibility that gets them to 2M LFTs a week, and are confident enough of the accuracy of their visibility that they are reducing capacity.

Meanwhile, Regulator, that great hindsight poster, told us after the RNS, that he wasn't surprised by the it.

the contract from Feb is dead. If they get some other Gov contract who knows, but there was next to zero expectation of it in either the RNS or the presentation.

And on a different subject, its ironic that just as some CTDA approvals come thru, the UK gov switches travel testing from LFT to PCR.

Many including me have spent the last few days in retrospective mode. Its probably time to move on from that, but make sure lessons are learned where necessary.

So today we know that a tweet saying "still have access to" the gov equipment" conveys no new information, and anyone just seeing the tweet (and not taking in all the info from (thurs) could be misled by its content. It doesn't mean they can use it, we were told on thurs that they are in discussions to be able to use it commericially. And we also know how long ODX can take being "in discussion", so the tweet is at best meaningless and possibly misleading.

I hope al the folks who repeatedly said ODX was knocking out tests at capacity month after month, heard him when he talked about holding very limited stock.

With respect, you need to check his postings on here. In my opinion ODX viewed him as a useful idiot, a channel that you could feed a small thread of a thought, knowing he'd weave it into a massive ramp, all based on information supposedly from the horses mouth and given apparent credence because of the source, but ultimately could not formally be allocated as coming from ODX.

All you need to do is look at the crap that was posted on the official twitter account "busy busy busy", etc etc, and how that account has been used to disseminate information, and you can see that BJ is little more than another social media outlet, and of course he loved being "the guy in the know" even though it was complete fallacy. That "I've had so many emails from people thanking me as otherwise they would have sold" is very revealing. Wanted to take the credit for ensuring people didn't sell, does he still want to take that credit today ?

Why a CEO would continue to engage with someone that has a long and sustained history of being verbally aggressive both on PI investment forums and on twitter, being demeaning, calling ODX shareholders weasels, vermin, I have no idea. It was only a couple of weeks ago he postulated about smashing my keyboard into a 1000 pieces. I never reported that post (I reported others in the past) as I wanted it to remain, but I note it was removed.

Characterising him as merely naive downplays his dark aggressive nature, which I accept you may not fully appreciate if it was never particularly aimed at you. It is worth noting that he is far from alone on here in resorting to demeaning and dehumanising posts when challenged.

I asked walbrook to advise or enquire from the company what the most recent long stop date was, as that is clearly when the contract expired. The reply was that the company did not disclose the latest long stop date, which is exactly why I asked for them to enquire about it.

I think it would be counter productive at this time to look for a CEO change. Yes, its pretty clear that there is a serious lack of business skills in the company. But frankly I haven't a baldy notion who would replace him, you hardly want a CFO who is just thru the door taking over, especially given his performance yesterday.

No, I think at the moment the die is cast, assuming some of things in the pot come to fruition, then when the outlook is a has a bit more certainty about it, that may be the time for a new CEO to be considered.

Bigbang. They did confirm capacity @ 2M a week, but also said that capacity from non-gov machine was 600K ,which is extremely surprising given everything we were previously led to beleive.

Sneaky, I think it was implied during the presentation that the 2M preproduction would be recouped when/if the equipement is used to make tests, one assumes on per test basis. That is why it that 2M has been separated out in the financials.

Capt, when it was posted in the RNS this am that the contract was expired, I looked at it and after 5 mins you could clearly see that it expires after the long stop date unless they went to phase 2. I initially thought that meant 1st April, but then revised to say long stop date can be extended and we needed to know when the extension date was.

I aint no lawyer, but that flow is entirely obvious when you look at it. It is not in legalese its' clear as day. I have no idea what they went to the lawyer for (other than to cover their backs possibly), but that extension date was bound to be engrained into all their minds, this was a date that killed a contract that could allow them to produce 2M tests a week FFS ! How then could the extension date pass and no one bat an eyelid.

The only thing that gets them off the hook is that new long stop date was 24th Nov, ie yesterday, which would seem an entirely random date to pick, and most unlikely. It was notable that he stated the first date, but did not state the extension date..
