How does this impact us, 5x5? Or is this just general news?
Has anyone got a view on a sale of Songwe post MDA, and what possible price per share could be achieved? Feels like the sharks are circling lots of small cap miners at the mo and swallowing them up, especially if the article I posted earlier is indicative of the wider picture. I wonder what we’d be worth with and MDA in the bag. Anyone got a view?
Some interesting context for what’s happening in the mining world right now. And could happen to us..

Down we go..
I’ve emailed Wezzi Gausi to see if she’ll send a link or details of the interview.
13p in the crosshairs.
This will, at some point, hit £1.
I think, despite the plural, he’s referring to Global’s affairs. I hope I’m wrong.
He also appears to be talking about Global Metals agreement. Not ours.
That Kossam Munthali wants to pipe down though. Honestly, I wonder if we’ll see the MDA signed this year..
Been nagging at mine too. So hopefully this is purely a % negotiation now. No doubt Malawi really turning the nipple clamp.
Good update on Cotec. MDA now please. Let’s feed this beast with another beast.
It’s tough to watch this drift it really is. My heart goes out to anyone trying to do business in Africa. A place that has been pulled between east and west for decades. A place of so much system and cultural corruption. I invested here because I thought Malawi was different. The jury remains out. The longer this goes on my mind is starting to play tricks. Are they playing us off against China/Russia/anyone else? Is this MDA being used as leverage? None of us have a scooby. At the very least it’s good to know some of the board have their plums on the same block as us.
And the buys got bigger. 13k and 23k toward close. The nag is pulling..
There seems to be movement again here with smallish buys flooding in. 7 month pattern is actually upward despite the retraces. This is itching to go now and with the hypromag presentation yesterday the sentiment is only widening. Malawi has pens in hand to light the touch paper. Whether it’s a buy out or a finance, the opportunity for scale is astonishing. What a share to be in. Come on Chakwera, let’s put some good news out in a bad news world.
So, it seems a red Hill sold their 40% stake in the red hill iron ore project for 300m (sterling) in 2021. Announced in June, executed in September. Between April and sep that year the SP went from 0.5 AUD to 5.35 AUD. Does anyone know what volume of iron ore that project equates to, and so what sort of asset their 40% stake reflected? We do seem to hold really similar potential here, one would hope. tt
Cheers, 5/5
Apart from Fenix, does anyone have a good couple of comparison for companies on a similar journey to us, but who are a few years further along? Companies of a comparable size who have gone on to produce DSO at similar volumes to that which we’re projecting?
