Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Dickie, I’m currently pursuing a strategy of spreading some potential Alien capital out into Mkango in anticipation of MDA, in the hope that any gains made are transferred back into alien to amplify my position. With the UFO price as it is right now, and with Mkango dragging their heels it feels like I’m locked in a squeaky bum race against time. Preying the Malawians sign in the dotted line soon as I’d be able to average down substantially at these prices. Once more, good luck to one and all. We all need some good news in this world.
Does anyone know when we are expecting to receive said mining licenses or MDA?
I wish Mkango would pull their finger out sometimes. MDA was supposed to be completed in July and we’re almost out of August here. Deadlines have consistently been missed this year.
Anyone? Bueller? Max?
Would anyone care to offer an update on where we are at with the MDA? I’ve forgotten. Is it underway or was it announced already? For Han****.
I understand Fenix have a lot less shares in circulation than we do also. But the main difference is they are generating cash. As soon as we have a firm link to cash generation and we can start calculating things like WAC then we are dice throwers. Good news is it does appear to be more and more likely we will start generating cash with every passing month. This is what investing here is about for me. Pick a company with good prospects and stick with them as long as they keep de-risking and moving towards Rev gen. All these peaks and trough give people heart murmurs but it’s entirely expected. Lows are welcome as long as the fundamentals remain intact and results continue to prove and expand the asset. Stick with, average down when you can and…wait.
Bigger buys and sells going in it seems. Was that 20k a buy? Was at the bid level. Maybe the weak hands are leaving just as the “in the know” crowd are arriving. News almost certainly soon. Let’s hope Mkango can be the company to buck the “slide on good news” trend…
Yeah that 60k buy is encouraging.
Looking very official now. SURELY news this week on the MDA? Slated for completion in July so a photograph like this does seem to indicate some kind of “handshake”.
I’ve rewatched the minister of mining’s “joke” comment and it seems to me that what he was saying was actually very positive. I read it as he’d come personally because what he was hearing in board rooms was so promising it was almost hard to believe so he had come to see with his own eyes. Pretty casual phrasing but it’s confirmation that this is a huge deal for Malawi, and a highly valuable project for all sorts of reasons globally. Now let’s get that juicy little MDA squared away Mr Chakwera…
Any ideas on when we might get a formal update on increasing our 10mt JORC? Are we waiting for that RNS next? Or is it a way off?
I’m finding myself wishing 2022 away here. For lots of reasons, but mainly because we’re going to be balls deep in DSO come spring 2023.
Evening all. Does anyone have a bead on how long this mining development agreement will take to get finalised? I’m assuming it could be some months, but Chakwera does appear to have a bee in his Bonet about getting things moving in Malawi. Let’s hope he’s true to his word.
Given what Putin is doing to the world at the moment, we’re all in for a long wait. I agree Malbright, it has immense potential but someone still needs to pop a cap in that bald t@&ts forehead before the world can work towards any kind of economic stability.
It does astonish me that a company can release news like this and the sp remains almost 40% less than it was a year ago before any of these astronomical figures were published. The future is very definitely bright, but who do you have to f@ck to get a mining share off the ground these days..?
I’ll take a penny a day I can tell you that.
I’ve gotta be honest, I can see a situation where the BFS lands and we go up just 1p and then down half a pence by end of day. And I can also see us shooting up to 40p. I’ve seen great companies release news and go nowhere. It never seems to make sense. There’s scope for this company to get up to a pound if the BFS confirms a strong enough route to finance. The only certainty, thankfully, is that we’ll know a lot more this week. And we’ll have a much better view of this companies concrete future plans and profitability.
Keeping a keen eye now. Encouraging to see this getting back towards sensible value before news and the buy pressure is clearly indicative. Fingers crossed this continues for all of us. I’d love to see late 20s before any news. Come on Mkango!!
That’ll do. Immediate 8% recovery which I can see improving over the week they’ve just bought themselves. The market now has a short timeframe with which to expect high impact release, so buy pressure should increase. I’d love this to get back to 25p before the BFS hits. Then we’re off to the races over the next few months. It’s happening. Slowly.
Of course we still have a trading day, but unless we get some kind of update soon this company are at risk of a serious slide. I can well appreciate the magnitude of what needs sorting out behind the scenes, and we are privy to so little of it, but this company need to get their ducks in a row pronto or sentiment will start to depart. Personally I would have expected the BFS (bankable feasibility study) to have been available feb / March. I’ve waited because I believe in the fundamentals, but we need news now or the fire dies. I still believe their are eruptions behind the scenes here. There’s too much going on globally and we have such a valuable and timely resource. All will be revealed but patience is running thin now.
Here’s a bit of fun… if the BFS dropped tomorrow, what material impact do we think it might have on the SP? 10%? 20% increase? Or will it be a case of stead increase to mid-30s over a month or so? I’ve been here before and been seriously underwhelmed after much anticipated news in other companies.
