Thanks niky for the link. As this testing is the result of previous testing I'm guessing we'll get a favorable result. As the length is 5 months we could even get an order this financial year! Not betting on it but should get something next year and beyond. Perhaps a small string to the bow at first but hydrogen energy does seem to have a future.
The numbers are going to be impressive I think. I've just revisited the interim results and comment on a couple of figures. The first half profit is greater than last year's full profit figure. Last half year we launched with 11 new partners - this half year we launched with 26. The SP is going to rise.
Only a couple of months to a trading update - wonder what the company will do with the profits? Debt reduction, dividend, bit of both? Interesting times ahead.
Hi extrader - you seem to spot stuff! I've just reread your 23rd of May post re Quad. But the time Quad get themselves to a tender stage (2-3 years if they ever do!) then SRT will be the only game in town anyway. All is grist to the mill!
Quite right Starman. Come the next financial year we should develop a steady flow of contracts which will attract both follow on orders and recurring Data Sales - never mind the transponders! Because we don't manufacture, and therefore not need the premises, we only have to facilitate the onward forwarding to our installation partners around the world. It's a good business model and our costs are never going to be high compared to our revenue.
Come on now, own up - Who bought three and sold two!?
Well impressed. How does ST do it? What a professional performance. He has such a grasp of the current situation plus the ability to look ahead. He has himself said he is sometimes too optimistic - let's hope his optimism re new contracts is justified. Announce 2 systems contracts before the March year end and the SP will double.
Quite right hardboy - I stand corrected! We are increasing head count and when I was at the 2020 AGM there was talk of increasing warehouse stock but we don't hold much equipment so costs will rise more slowly than revenue. Debt of 6.9 Mill should not be a problem to clear in a year or two and then roll on the divis!
HI Laura, I have never been brave enough to ask to quantify this "Poster". I just thought it was a vague sticker?? Interested to hear the replies. Many thanks.
Good news given. Good chance I think of making a (small?) maiden profit this year - icing on the cake would be a new contract this calendar year but not crucial to break into profit I think. Interesting to see tomorrows presentation with perhaps a further SP uptick with a new audience? Might get some figures as well!
Hi Starman, Not too sure of any benefit to the Coastguard from SRT products re illegal boats with no AIS. However, you would think, that both the Webcast and the Presentation will have positivity to encourage a further SP rise. Three years ago we were at 55p but a couple of months later this had halved. The situation is now totally different. The new small contract is actually a free bonus. I would like to see a VSP contract with a milestone payment before the March year end. I think this would guarantee our maiden profit. The VSP should then guarantee a conveyor belt of contracts for future years.
According to the Fox website Fox was delisted from the FTSE Russek index on the 1st of November. No idea of the significance of this but doesn't seem positive!
I'm very optimistic re this new contract. There is a £1 Mill contract in the VSP so this is less than that I guess. However it concludes this financial year so that helps. But more importantly it is the lead for other governmental agencies. The advantage of this is that maybe each agency is able to approve its own section and that avoids a full governmental approval and the associated bureaucracy that goes with it.
Every contract customer has always come back for more and the Saudi one ordered more before the initial one was completed! This latest one seems to be the ultimate in this respect. Good revenue for some years I guess. ST's webcasts often give the SP a bit of boost and the one on the 14th will be a positive one - onwards and upwards folks!.
Thanks for the links guys - seems a pretty high powered event even if a little expensive? Looks like we're playing with the big boys at last which can only be good.
Every coin has 2 sides and you appear to focus on the negative side. That's your choice but not mine. Not too sure why you hold here but Hey-Ho, it takes all sorts.
Hi Azurian, They say timing is all. The only time you could have bought higher was 3 years ago. However you bought into a loss making company and you now hold in a profit making company. Wait for the next contract and you could sell at a profit. Wait for another contract and you could get a divi! The MIDAS article was pretty much as I see SRT - for what's that worth!
Hi andy, There has been legislation re AIS, both Nationally and Internationally, on deep sea ships for many years. It was originally for the largest ships but has been extended many times to smaller and smaller ships. It is now extending into inland waterways and SRT had a small contract with the new Panama Canel both when it opened and since.
The legislation does not apply to people but to shipping companies and waterway managers etc. and comes from governments and coastguards. Pretty good damn situation I reckon!
It's unfortunate that you've lost money but buying an AIM company that is not in profit is always a gamble. However we are now in profit. I've been here since 2016 and topped up many many ties with smallish purchases mainly in the 30s P but a couple in the 40s P and a few in the 20s P So now in profit. Don't think the MIDAS article was bland actually - judging by the SP rise anyway. Please visit the website to access the various ST's webcasts regarding the verified pipeline. If you're only going to invest in compulsory products you're going to be rather limited.
I first bought here in 2006 and I've covered every step of the way. Some aerospace companies can be both hidebound and bureaucratic. Just getting on to the approved supplier list took many years and inspections from airbus. They had to approve both the premises and also our production processes first - never mind the product! In addition airbus and Leonardo don't actually make most of the parts themselves but they are assemblers and so suppliers to them are involved. Fortunately our process needs little alteration from the original product specification but still all of them had to be involved. Similar with Leonardo and they also wanted testing on their own rig but this was often prebooked for other tests. If you want more detail you can read the relevant RNSs released at the time. However if you consider BAE Systems and Lockheed Martin they took, I think, around a year or so.
However all the companies would have been aware of the price range of HDD's coating before starting testing. We have no direct competitor and are truly unique so there would be no reason for us to reduce our margins. Our pricing power is secure.
However if you consider the length of time that airbus and Leonardo spent testing perhaps this, in fact, demonstrates the importance they attach to HDD?
Well spotted goneawol and any thanks for the link - just the sort of publicity we need - perhaps it won't be jam tomorrow at the next AGM but chocolate mousse!!!
