Looks like £1.8 billion to be set aside for tests. Not bad if GDR gets approved, in that Javid has advised parliament that they will buy any Uk tests that are approved. I agree with other posters though. We are more likely to get on the EU Common list before we get UKCTDA approval. Unfortunately both the EU and the UK have exceeded their own guidance on approval schedules for all tests over the last year. I thought this might change when they went to the trouble of updating their guidance. But it hasn't happened. The EU took nearly 3 months to put Mologic on the Common list. Although the GDR poc has much higher sensitivity than Mologic's test so that could make a difference.
Stressful hold now but it will lift at once on AIHL news if that comes first.

Just checked the new approvals published on 17th February. Yourgene and Primer Design both took 4 months from submission. And a new LAMP test is on the list. Will tweet it later but you can Google it obvs.

GDR's poc targets the main nuclei of the virus and the N gene. Very robust vs all variants. The EU CE-IVD approval on the EU database shows it detects every known variant.
The politics in the UK will be slowing everything down. But UKCTA is due today. Exactly 20 working days, allowing for Xmas closures from the application. Won't happen today. Government is paralysed thx to Johnson.
Looks to me like we're invested in a potential displacement product for PCR. Faster, cheaper, just as accurate, accessible and detects all known variants, likely to detect future variants because the design is more robust. Check the RNS and the website. Think for yourself guys and gals. Ignore the trolls. They are mostly thick as planks and just focused on day trading.

The EU Common list is out today. GDR is not on it. 6 new tests approved. GDR's poc test has a higher sensitivity and specificity than 4 of these and most of the rest on the list as a whole. The guidelines have changed so newly approved tests have the 4 weeks pause applied after 22nd January. So looks like we will have to wait until the next update. This update has been added to the schedule but was not published in advance. There were 4 December updates. So there could be another January update and we won't find out until it's published. I am buying later this week now. I think we could say under pressure this week unless there's other news, due to the political uncertainty at play and due to the reducing restrictions. Reducing restrictions will not be the end of testing. Both UK and worldwide demand for tests will continue.

Yep. I will top up tomorrow. Only £5k because sentiment is poor. Cv19 stats don't seem to have got the message that Cv19 is over. Cases up 12% and deaths up to 443. Highest since February last year.

Philjpo, that's the very article where Peto says there's no backlog atm. GDR's poc exceeds all requirements and has better sensitivity and specificity than all 4 approved LAMP tests. As I expect you know very well. Maybe time to close your short on IG? As we approach the 20 days this should turn. You might get badly burnt. Wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Said the application for the UKCTA went in on 22nd December. Peto, who heads up the approval process told the Times that there's no backlog left. If true this would mean a decision is due in 20 working days. Allowing for the Christmas break this means a decision is due next week. They have the CE-IVD mark. Essential requirement. They easily exceed minimum standards. They are in fact the best LAMP test compared to the 4 other LAMP tests that have already been approved. Sentiment is low because plan B restrictions will be eased. That means working from home. Testing will remain in place. It only takes a new variant to materialise and sentiment will switch again. I am hanging on in. If it falls again I will have one last buy.
They know they are under pressure to approve and buy British tests. That's why they are talking to the press about it. Labour have committed to buy British diagnostics and the awful government are desperately looking for 'popular' policies. They are under real pressure for buying Chinese. And procurement in the pandemic is coming under real scrutiny.

You still have to register for the trial. They have got the numbers they need. Recruitment is closed.

Ulster University did trials for ODX. It's a straightforward quantitative exercise. Obviously the test data has to be lab processed but once the tests are back and processed the assessment is about recognising how well the poc matches vs a high standard PCR- they have used ThermoFisher as the comparator before. I expect they will look at the capacity to capture variants too using a relevant sample of a good enough size to ensure a high standard deviation.

I don't know the role of the study. ODX and Abingdon used them for their submissions for government approval for the ABC19 test previously before there was a requirement for UKCTA. I have raised that I would expect GDR to clarify this in an RNS several times on this board. My assumption is based only on precedent.
To hashtagthingybob, I have bought and sold GDR more than once. Made a lot in February. Lost a bit on my second buy in- only put some profits in.
I bought in most recently with a good sum after the poc RNS. Not sure why that's your business. To the trolls saying my contributions should be banned you lot are too sad to respond to. Sigh. Banging on all day, every day about how the sp will be 15p based on hysterical nonsense makes you qualified to comment whilst I should be excluded from discussion, how?

Will be out by the end of next week for UKCTA and we'll all be kicking ourselves for not loading up or worse, for selling. I am going into my bank account for a top up this week. When the sp is 85p in a couple of weeks I will be glad I did.

The WHO are saying that Omicron will infect 50% of Europe in the next 8 weeks. And that's without considering the Deltacron (so called) found in Cyprus. Don't see why GDR won't do very well in the light of the relative credibility of the poc. Leaves the competition standing.

They could drop one anytime to explain the purpose of the Ulster trial. Expect it's to support the UKCTA application. But results will be due next week otherwise. 20 days is 20 working days for UKCTA I assume. The volume will build gradually until then. As usual the mms are messing us around for no good reason. I will buy again this week.

Pretty Wild, yeah it's exactly what was needed. Feel for Avacta holders. They will be in a state of shock now. Hopefully they can pick themselves up and face up to the fact that their test is not the best and isn't ready. The GDR test design is so much more robust as they have qualified in detail in their tweets. GDR has fallen a bit due to nothing more than industry association. It's a steal at this price. Avacta holders could do well to jump ship and recover their losses here. Looks like GDR will be the winner amongst the UK diagnostics industry.

Good to see them tweeting. Shows they care about the sp for one thing. They are best placed to clarify the science and they are differentiating GDR in positive terms from the competition. Even better. If you are on Twitter might be good to retweet. Once the dust settles rather than being affected by association as we are today, the market will soon come to the conclusion that GDR are the safest covid test investment for high value growth atm. Hi Tiger, If you read the Avacta RNS they say clearly that their previous claim was based 'on a small clinical sample '. They have now reassessed vs a larger sample and found that it's not up to scratch. Avacta will fall and fall as investors move away from the shock and face up to the reality. Their cancer drug is years away from completing trials.
GDR's latest assessment is based on a valid sample size of 650. 100% detection of the Omicron variant. Check the RNS' from GDR dated 22nd and 8th December.
If this is substantiated in the Ulster trials currently underway it's game on big time for GDR. I would get out of any other cv19 testing stocks and get in here asap. I am not in any other cv19 stocks. I am not starry eyed about any of these stocks. We must be vigilant. But no point selling for no reason. We all know there are a number of inflexion points due for GDR. The market makers will take advantage of low volume until then. This seems to be as low as they will take it. Double the buys to sells again today.
The poc is very high accuracy- 98% sensitivity and 99% specificity according to the EU assessment. Compare that to Mologic's at 90.6% sensitivity. Contrary to what investors in ODX were first advised.
Buyers will want the best tests available. This is certainly one of those. Fast, accessible, cheaper than a PCR and more accurate and capable of detection variants then an lft.
I think the Omicron claim is credible. GDR don't rely solely on the N spike or the S spike. Again, details are in the RNS. The US are flagging up tests that rely on the N and S spikes for recall. The competition is thinning out.

Bizarre that we get hit with association to Avacta. GDR confirmed the poc picks up Omicron in the RNS dated 29th November. The EU database shows every variant of concern is detected by GDR's poc. If you click on the list of variants, they all show 'perfect matches'.

Nothing to do with GDR. Avacta have had their day. GDR have already confirmed they do detect Omnicrum.

Looks worrying. Some of the coverage from the Times has been very hit and miss throughout the pandemic. We're all a bit exhausted by cv19. I suspect that journalists are just as prone to wishful thinking and denial as anyone else. News of new variants will keep coming. Only 10% of Africa are vaccinated and the UK, and the EU have about 10% of vaccine refuseniks. The US has more than 20%. Plenty of space for the damn thing to keep mutating.
A combination of Delta and Omnicrum could be lethal if it has the transmission of the latter and the severity of the former. A robust testing strategy is far cheaper than never ending vaccination. The UKHSA are resisting a 4th dose as routine.
GDR are in a great position with the poc right now. As the newsflow builds confidence will bounce back here.
