This is the beauty of the concept of personalised medicine. Earlier detection of disease makes it more treatable. And with a highly accurate poc technology you can have one in every GP surgery, saving the expense associated with A&E, and hopefully reducing demand in those expensive and less efficient spaces, ensuring they are only used for accidents. Or more so anyway.
I really think GDR are in the right place for taking the lead in personalised medicine. Bill Newman sees it's application in all kinds of settings, not only cancer but more widespread chronic illness like arthritis, and depression. Making sure everyone has the right diagnosis, at the right time, taking allergies and other externalities into account so reducing the occasional incidence of painful and costly mistakes.
