It will be interesting to see if Musk, for once, delivers on what he promises. If he does it merely adds a bit more heat to an already boiling pot. If he doesn’t it’s no biggie. There’s enough going on elsewhere to keep the spotlight firmly in nickel.

The current expansion is likely to be for the $25,000 car they're rumoured to be producing for the Chinese market.

If that assumption is correct then its likely to have an LFP battery. Getting down to $25,000 is. big ask and the battery is the one obvious area where they can save money.

Its been done for fun as much as anything else but there is a serious side to it as well. Note that the first large auto OEM is predicted to go bust around 2027/8, Ford possibly, with a second to follow shortly after? It also predicts the first major oil company will go bust before 2030.

The number of shares that ended up in the JIM nominee account from the placing is difficult to assess since there could have been just under 3% before the placing. They did, after all, hold 18,385,552 on 03/06/2020.

JIM dropped off the radar after 03/06/2020 only to reappear on 02/10.2020 with 58,250,715. In the past 4 months that figure has dropped to 45,740,813. Are they in the process of slowly disposing of all of their shares or only some? That's the question because a constant drip feed will have a suppressing effect on the share price.

JIM appears to be a regular depository for placing shares from Amur and it would appear that the only function they perform is to punt them on and not to hold. Having said that on half decent news 45m would get sold in the blink of an eye.

Bit of a non-story really.

If you're not convinced that his prediction are accurate go take a look at what he was saying 3 to 5 years ago and put it up against what has happened. You can find a whole series of presentation going back several years on You Tube. He admits on some issues he may be out by a year or two but from what I can establish he has been on the money where it counts. In all likelihood the transition to EVs will be an awful lot faster than most people think.

The total number of EVs sold world wide in January 2020 was 74,663.

With only 6 countries in Europe reporting figures for January 2021 so far the total stands at 81,173.

More EVs sold this month than pure diesel cars. That's the third month in a row that's happened. I reckon by the middle of next year we will see the same with pure petrol cars.

PHEV's - 6,124 up +28% on this time last year.

In a market that's dropped overall by -39.5% on this time last year. The Osborne effect!

2,030 EVs for the month of January in a restricted market. The total comes to 19.8% of the overall car market for the month so at least that is moving in the right direction.

It might and you have to be open to that possibility. As I'm sure you are only far to well aware a lot of PIs blind themselves to that possibility as they fall in love with their investment refusing to see it in its entirety, warts and all. The detail that Amur has published to date gives me grounds for optimism. The devil, after all, is in the detail.
